Skaters on Team Japan

Wow, she is just like Eteri now, especially with their group of talented ladies skater. Any idea when the JGPS assignment will be announced? I might have missed the notification  Japan got 14 spots in total for the ladies right?

If I’m not mistaken, Japan can send 2 ladies to 7 events plus 1 more for JGP Yokohama.
Last year, they announced the JGP entrees on July 17. I saw it first on a tweet from TV Asahi and JSF updated their website soon after. Hopefully we’ll find out soon.

Thank you mikaboo, and the poster :thank:

Sota's skating gave me a relief.

Rika's 3A astonished me :jaw:

The boy Nobuyoshi Oda seems to be Nobunari's nephew.

Thanks for the correction :) I kept on seeing him being referred to as either cousin or nephew. For instance, this article says cousin.
But this is probably him on Nobu’s twitter, introduced as his nephew so I trust he know what he’s talking about.

I love Rika’s jumps. Even without the 3A, they are  I remember how I admired her lutz at Asian Open Trophy.

I’ve been watching Sota’s program the most since it was broadcasted. He and Koshiro have become so… elongated.

TV Tokyo announced that Shoma ans Satoko will be competing at JO.

I don't know why Mao's name isn't there yet. She already said she'll be competing at JO :scratch2:

Narumi and Ryo went to the "Taste of Chicago" festival. The first thing I thought after seeing those pics was "wait until they actually start competing and figure skating fans see Ryo Shibata".

Lou Malnati's Pizza. Yum! Nice photo of them with the famous Buckingham Fountain in the background. I forgot they are training in Chicago. Anybody know where exactly? (7 Bridges in Woodridge possibly?)

Most of the press (articles, interviews) has been all about Marin Honda, even with Satoko Miyahara being there. It's getting clearer that Japan is ready to crown Marin the next big star after Mao Asada; the question is whether she will meet the expectations, but the future will reveal the answer. :)

Media is likely to tend to be noisy at more sensational topic, this time it’s just Marin and I don’t like the fact that they put a lot of pressure on her so early :noshake:

Thank you mikaboo! :hap10:
Looking at the depth of field among junior ladies this year, I am actually looking forward to JGPS. I never care about Junior this much before.
I can't imagine how exciting it will be once they all turn senior! Hope growth spurt will be kind to all of them

Photos from Kansai Univ. exhibition has been released including Satoko & Yamato.
Nobu's nephew is there too.

Maybe (and that insane layout for her age.)

But anyway DONE!!! :hpull:

ETA : oh wait, isn't it full rotated?

I never know how much pre-rotations are allowed when looking at axels. Some people said Rika’s would be borderline rotated but will depend on the strictness/leniency of the tech. panel which doesn’t help me much  Anyway, Rika looks like she has grown a lot taller since I saw her last but it’s great that she's still jumping well.

Think I answered my own question about where Narumi and Ryo are training. Don't see any photos but I'm pretty sure (from their ameblo) they're at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois - about 30 miles from Chicago. The director of the school / rink is Rockne Brubaker who is a former U.S. pairs skater. http://fvia.us/

What does the character mean? :handw:

Sorry to be late. These days my days were busy!:drama:

the chinese character "信" means truth, sincerity, belief, proof, etc. http://okjiten.jp/kanji393.html .

On a different note, his ancestor is said to be a famous Japanese load in 16th century “ODA Nobunaga(織田(family name) 信長(first name)” . To see nobu’s first name “信成” and his nephews’ 信義, I thought Oda family needs a chinese character 信 in their names.
for the ancestor, Nobu’s nickname is “tono(殿)”, which means lord.
