Skaters on Team Japan

Any reports on PIW? I can't wait to see sota on the 17 and 18! I hope he's seen that, its very touching to receive such a welcome from fans

Im serching for the reports about PIW on twitter but it doesnt seem to come up. Today's 2 shows are from 14:00 and 19:00 in Japanese time and now 15:00. We may need 1-2 hours till we get it.
Sota's comeback is a great joy to me. He looks fine at the last week DOI. :)

According to a report by Pigeon Post, Yuka Nagai's SP is "Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra". She skated to her EX "Let it be" today but will skate to her SP on the 17th and 18th.
Sota will skate to "Anthem". Wonder if that's his new SP.

@ioanna
She says some nice things about Machida too, but it's too long for me to translate now.

ETA: I ended up trainslating it anyway.

Machida-san’s performance took everything away. It’s like when he makes his appearance, he commands the atmosphere of the arena. The program is polarizing but once I saw him in front of me, it was completely different to what I’d imagined even though I’ve seen it on screen.
Usually the lyrics of a song represent the thoughts of the skater, but for this program, the thoughts of the audience who “wanted to see Machida-san” start to flow out automatically. (couldn’t think of a word to replace “automatically”. the writer wants to say that the program is designed for that to happen)
When the lyric said, “the days we spent together” I had images of him in his competitive days running through me like a kaleidoscope.
Most of all, I think there are only a very few top skaters in the world who can skate in his original way like he does. The techniques skaters learn during their competitive days, the different styles they learn from various choreographers, skaters utilize all that to establish their own styles of skating.
For Machida-san, he doesn’t just rely on that. I was really moved by how Machida-san came up with, and created what can he do with skating, in what position, at which timing, and what kind of skating he should do to express his program.
I am full of gratitude for him for continuing to skate at PIW after retirement, when it’s not his main job anymore. I hope you get to see him skate in front of you too.

Wow - What a beautiful tribute to Tatsuki. He really touches many people's hearts. Just yesterday, I found myself watching a You Tube of him doing his SP, LP, and EX. I think it was at Skate America. Gorgeous!

Thank you so much mikaboo  Live reports like these are priceless for me, because I've never had the opportunity to see him skate live when he was still competing and I definitely won't have any chance now.

So... Yuka and Shoma will skate to the same music for their SP? :reye:

I had the exact thoughts as the Pigeon Post writer when I saw him for the first time (my only time) last year at DOI. He really can change the atmosphere of the arena just by standing on the ice.

How does Yuka always end up with the same music as her team mates? :dbana:
Please let her FS music be more original.

So sorry you didn't get to see Machida skate live. I hope he continues to skate for many years to come so you won't lose hope!

How does Yuka always end up with the same music as her team mates?

Also, why is Yuka doing Machida tributes every other season (first East Of Eden SP and now this). The young skaters in Team Japan are turning 2016-2017 into the Machida tribute season.

You can find most of his performances in this post I made for his thread. It took a while to gather the videos.

Thx for your hard work. Actually I was looking at someone else on You Tube but then couldn't resist clicking on his trio of programs that were all in one You Tube. The one thing that is almost funny to me is where towards the very end of the SP, all of a sudden it just looks as if he says, "Hmmmm, maybe I'll do a triple lutz right here!" Of course it's planned, but it just seems like it comes out of nowhere! Very cool.

Ok, so I went to the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, IL. and just decided to go to the Information desk and said "I don't know if you can tell me, but Is Narumi Takahashi skating here?" The lady answered "oh yes" right away. I thought possibly for security / privacy reasons they might not tell me. But she didn't know who they are training with. It was almost kind of weird, as if they're not training with anyone. This lady hadn't seen them in awhile because she is only a part-time worker. I figured I would just come right out and ask, and the worst that could happen would be that they couldn't tell me anything!!! So the question of with whom they are training still remains a mystery.

This thread moves pretty fast these days and I like it, though it's like almost impossible for me (slow at reading English) to catch up all of them that I'm usually following (this, Yuzuru, Shoma, Mao etc...)

Here are some recent TJ members (ex-members) photos.

Lady Shizuka
Kanako and Rika
Koshiro and Sena
Nobu and Kanako
TJ boys

Oh my gosh - looks like Koshiro and Sena have enough food for ten people! Ha! Ha! Growing boys. :laugh2:...How about that Shizuka costume?! Wow!

Following in his uncle's footsteps! :agree: Did they say how old the nephew is? I may have missed it. So cute!...Thank you also for the interesting ancestry stuff you posted.

Nobuyoshi is 10 years old.

Nobunari: He is my brother's son.
Reporter: What do you say about his skating?
Nobunari: Not good at all. Not good jumps, totally under-rotated.
R: Oh, his uncle is so harsh!
MC: (Surprised) Oda-san is always so gentle.
N: It was under-rotated again.

Nobunari complimented girls skating.

R: And about Oda-san's nephew.
N: Sorry for this (private matter?) on the national broadcasting program.
R: What Oda-san wants to say to his nephew is; "Do practice!!"
N: He really does not practice. He always says he wants to go to the Olympics. But in 5 minutes after I gave him a lesson, he is chatting with girls at the rink side. I always say "You cannot go to the Olympics if you do not practice." "His face resembles mine more than my own sons. He is always mistaken as my son when we are walking together. So, in that sense as well, I want him to do his best. But it is difficult really."
MC: If you compare him with you when you were 10 years old, how is it?
N: He is twice as bad as me (of his age) He has to strive much more. It is not such an easy world, you know."
R: Would you chide him at home, please? (laughs)
N: Yes, I will do so for sure. :rofl2:

Even Yuzuru, according to Tsuzuki sensei, did not like everyday training when he was little. Patience, Nobunari sensei :agree:
