Skaters on Team Japan

Oh my....YUKA looks so pretty in this...:luv17:

Oh my gosh - looks like Koshiro and Sena have enough food for ten people! Ha! Ha! Growing boys. :laugh2:...How about that Shizuka costume?! Wow!

As for Shizuka’s costume, it looks gorgeous and suits her well although I prefer this for her (-around her neck- in my image, kinda like an ancient Egyptian.)

But look! Miki is even more so

Gorgeous costumes, and that flower bouquet Miki is holding is incredible! She didn't look that tan in Boston when I saw her! She must have really enjoyed the beaches in Spain.:p

Nobuyoshi is 10 years old.

Nobunari: He is my brother's son.
Reporter: What do you say about his skating?
Nobunari: Not good at all. Not good jumps, totally under-rotated.
R: Oh, his uncle is so harsh!
MC: (Surprised) Oda-san is always so gentle.
N: It was under-rotated again.

Nobunari complimented girls skating.

R: And about Oda-san's nephew.
N: Sorry for this (private matter?) on the national broadcasting program.
R: What Oda-san wants to say to his nephew is; "Do practice!!"
N: He really does not practice. He always says he wants to go to the Olympics. But in 5 minutes after I gave him a lesson, he is chatting with girls at the rink side. I always say "You cannot go to the Olympics if you do not practice." "His face resembles mine more than my own sons. He is always mistaken as my son when we are walking together. So, in that sense as well, I want him to do his best. But it is difficult really."
MC: If you compare him with you when you were 10 years old, how is it?
N: He is twice as bad as me (of his age) He has to strive much more. It is not such an easy world, you know."
R: Would you chide him at home, please? (laughs)
N: Yes, I will do so for sure. :rofl2:

Even Yuzuru, according to Tsuzuki sensei, did not like everyday training when he was little. Patience, Nobunari sensei :agree:

Actually his own sons resemble their mother closely?! ;)

The Japanese skaters who'll be competing at JGP Yokohama have been announced on the JSF website.
http://www.skatingjapan.or.jp/whatsnew/detail.php?id=3040

Men:
Kazuki Tomono
Yuto Kishina
Sena Miyake

Ladies:
Marin Honda
Mako Yamashita
1 TBD

Ice Dance:
Rikako Fukase/Aru Tateno
Thanks for the info! Maybe Yuna or Yuka will get the last spot for the ladies.
Do you know when they'll announce the skaters for the other JGP, especially the one in St Gervais? It's the 1st one of the season and I plan to go.

Yuna Aoki is from Yokohama so I hope it goes to her. But I have a feeling she didn't do well at the selection meet since her name is not there already :(

I have no idea when the other JGP entries will be announced. They announced it on July 17th last year (for TJ) :scratch2:
I think they just announced the TJ skaters from JGP Yokohama because ticket sales (or I should say, the entries for ticket draws) will start from tomorrow.

Do you happen to know when JSF is going to announce their senior B and challenger series participants? as I remember they should do it by the end of this month? Thank you.

I might miss this, but does anyone know if the other 2 team japan skaters for JO has been announced yet? Saw Machida and Akiko in CaOI poster so would it likely be them?

No idea, but the selection meeting for CS competitions is scheduled on July 30 so probably in August?

They haven't announced the last 2 skaters yet.

Mao said some weeks ago that she'll be competing at JO so I don't know why she's not listed yet. Maybe she changed her mind.
I see! Thank you mikaboo
I was making the assumption that Tatsuki and Akiko will be competing since aside of the already announced 10 skaters, these two were also included at CaOI poster. But if Mao said she is going probably that will not be the case :)

The other two can be retired skaters, JO is the only competition that allows that. But if Tatsuki and Akiko had been the other two, they would have been listed on the JO page and not only on the CaOI page. It's a bit weird that they're taking so long to announce the other two.
