Sofia got the Ljubljana JGP off to a great start, landing the 3A and managing a combo this time. She's in fourth after the SP, going into the free - good luck to her tomorrow!




Edit: Congratulations to Sofia on her silver medal, and for having the highest score in the free skate.

That's a surprise to me. But the competition is so tough and so close just in her own country some really good skaters are not going to make it to the final.
 
The ambiguity in rule is not impacting their tie, because it is a single event score, it is just not clear if they are comparing it medal to medal. In both cases, Zinina wins the tie (her sliver single score or just single total event score wins). Only if it is combined total score of two events, Samodelkina wins, and it is definitely not total combined for 2 events 🥲 unfortunately, the rule this year works against her

Hooray for landing the 3A! Taking it out of combination definitely helps.

Some good footwork in the step sequence, but alas for the stumble on the clockwise twizzles! That brought her down a level. May she have a spotlessly clean skate in the free.

Fabulous! She always has such nice dresses too.

I love that she did this against the senior Russian ladies. It also must be nice for her to have a competition where she doesn't have to face SA.

She is facing Sofia Muravieva. Ladies free will start in about three hours from now BTW.

Yeah, starting early today, I hope I will have time to watch.. Victory is expected, I'm glad she landed that 3A and jumped it without combo as expected.. ;) :cheer:

This is a good chance for SS to make the podium in a senior lady Russian cup event. She has a good chance to be in senior Russian nationals as well which will be an incredible experience for her.

She did, Sofia won (will post her skate when they upload it to youtube). When she can't go to JGPF, she has shown she has a big chance to qualify for the junior worlds.
