Stanislava Konstantinova

Stasya did well but sadly doing well doesn't get you a 2nd JGP event.
I have a suspicion no St. Petersburg girl will get a 2nd JGP event this season, not with the current competition. So why exactly did Stasya have to stay in Juniors and we have to look at Mikhailova at Rostelecom Cup instead?

Need asking her coach about it. Chebotareva must knows something about this, once she was with Stasya, leaving Kolyada alone at Nepela Cup. :dev2:
And he ruined the short program, gaining less than 13-old Trusova in her SP at Minsk JGP. :curse:

TBH I don't follow juniors at all and only interested in Stasya becouse of Kolyada, but could anyone clarify if her chances of second spot are definitely gone now with Samodurova's win? And if so, could she do some Challenger events?
It is a pity she stayed junior she does look out of place there and with Anna's injury, Elena's jumps struggle and Lisa not doing so great so far, she actually could have better chance to make a name for herself on the senior circuit...

2 events remain, contenders are:
Samodurova
Panenkova
Kostornaya
Gulyakova
Konstantinova

Samodurova was 1st at her event, same goes with Panenkova, so they have locked their spots. Gulyakova was second, and Kostornaya has yet to debut, but she was very strong at domestic competitions and that's why fed decided to give her a spot. Konstantinova on the other hand was only third at her assignment, and her chances to qualify for JGPF are close to zero considering the competition she would face on the last two events and her inconsistency(she need only win there). There is still a bit of time until JGP Poland, but i would say it's very unlikely that she would get a second assignment.
The only reason for rus fed to assign Konstantinova would be the hope for all-russian final, but i don't see this happening tbh

Stasya's chances were gone as soon as she got only a Bronze medal, really. The one whose chances are now seriously threatened by Samodurova is Gulyakova - imagine not getting a second spot after a Silver! The competition this season really sucks. So once again why keep Stasya in Juniors?..

Stasya will get Challenger events, the problem is last season she only got one. Ideally she needs at least two. Leonova had three and managed to get a 190+ SB at one of them. I am sure Stasya could manage the same.

Will Russian federation let her go senior next season? I think she has improved quite a lot since last year. She’s a fine jumper and she has developed well. But the stability is...

Well, the number of reliably consistent 17 y.o. skaters is not exactly high - Medvedeva and..? One more reason why Stasya would have fit much better in Seniors. I am sure she'll go Senior next year - what's the point of otherwise?

The Russian Federation was so happy to promote Konstantinova into seniors this season. But Stasya's coach had personal opinion. And we have now what we have.

she will have to... otherwise i don't think she will get even one assignment at juniors next season, if Scherbakova will be healthy

Are you sure you know exactly how it happened? I doubt the Fed said - "please, go Senior, we have Rostelecom Cup waiting for you", and her coach responded "No, forget it, who needs a Senior GP spot."

It started a little earlier, when Fed gifted the JWC spot to Stasya so that her moving to seniors next season. It was a gentleman's agreement: we will support elder girls, but they must moving to seniors.

There was a moment in Nana Araki's LP video with Stasya intensively watching from under the stands - she'd known, she needed that silver like air. :hopelessness:

1 point... :scowl:

Stasya won her 1st Challenger event last season and she could very well win her 2nd event, 2017 Warsaw Cup, as well.

It seems Stasya isn't going to skate at the Shanghai Trophy even though her name still appears on the entry list which has been recently updated. Money-wise she should have choose Shanghai over Tallinn because there are some serious prize money available at Shanghai Trophy and not many skaters competing.

She is no longer on the entry list. Also, Lena Radionova has been added to the list.

Congrats to Stasya on the Tallinn Trophy win, and getting a 190+ score ratified with ISU!:hap93:
It's insane though that even with scoring 190, she missed the top 25 SB by 0.2 points -- still keeping fingers crossed that with juniors and possible retirements, there can still be GP opportunities for her next season.

Stasya is going to Zagreb, let's see how she does there first. Her problems with her new skates seem to be improving.
