Yup, Amber Glenn is listed under Midwestern in the Qualifiers list!

No, Amber does not have a bye to Nationals from Golden Spin.
But ... yes, she qualified (before Golden Spin) for Nats by placing third at Midwestern Sectionals (behind Tessa Hong and Hannah Miller).

It's very exciting for the skaters, too. At least one spot on the world team is wide open for any woman ready to take it. There are probably 7 skaters who, if they earned the spot, wouldn't surprise me at all.

It is wonderful to see Caroline skate again after the major injury. She needs more oomph - speed, vitality, conviction and my guess she underrotated some of her jumps - the Jennifer Robinson syndrome. Too slow and not enough amplitude on her elements. But she seemed to skate cleaner than Gold right now; and good for her for trying all the jumps. Her and Grant her fiancé are the underdogs.

Crossposting from the US Nationals subforum since it'd probably get more discussion here, but Ashley Kim (juniors) has withdrawn from Nationals. Unfortunate season for her, first with her JGP withdrawal and now this.

As seen at the bottom of the page, the three audio files that have been posted so far are for yesterday's teleconferences: Rippon; Denney/Frazier; Hubbell/Donohue.
I have seen no sign on social media that teleconferences with any ladies have happened yet.
Usually Lynn Rutherford (and possibly others) will tweet a quote or two.
Today Lynn tweeted about Kayne/O'Shea's call.
BTW, last year Ashley and Gracie were the only two ladies who were on pre-Nats calls.
No telling which ladies this year.

In the absence of Polina and with the issues with Gracie this could be interesting. Only Ashley is guaranteed really a spot at world's. Even if she came fourth she would get the nod. So that leaves it to Gracie to skate well enough even if held up to earn her spot and to see Amber, Karen, Courtenay, Mariah, Mirai fight it out or will faded hopes of Angela Wang or Caroline Zhang shock everyone. Zhang really looks to have huge issues with speed, power and amplitude that puts her out of contention sadly- remember folks she was an world medallist contender or rather hopefully with her success as a junior. Darn UR's/mule kick and growth. We don't even get the pearl spin any more.

She moves beautifully, but unfortunately she won't be a factor. She can't earn high PCS with her deficiencies and she doesn't get good GOE on her jumps, even when clean. I think that, under 6.0, she might have had an outside chance at a medal but she has a hard time topping 170 and that won't get her anywhere near the podium.

I only wish we could watch all 7 of those skaters compete at a very high level across the board, put up great scores and actually have 1 earn the spot but with the way this season has gone so far, I'm afraid the 1 who gets the spot will get it only by making fewer mistakes than the other 6. I am looking forward to it and hope I am wrong!
