Happy to hear those comments. She's so mature and intelligent.

It's interesting to hear that she's never watched competitions. I can kind of understand the feeling. It would help her focus on her new life and move on. At the same time, I feel it would be difficult to resist the desire to check out what's going on. Esp. because her FS friends would be still competing, I feel that she may want to cheer for them.

I agree, plus she left herself the out of "If I'm competitive" I'll compete. This suggests while she might not be watching, she does have knowledge that 3/3's are know in the short program.It seems to like Miss Sasha already questions her ability to compete with Mao and Yu-na.

I totally agree with you and that's why I miss her very much this season. In my humble opinion she was/is the most elegant skater I've watched. You're right about the spiral, while her leg was vertical, most are still horizontal.

Well, we may not see Sasha here in Vancouver for the 2010 games, but it will be great to see her here for the Stars on Ice tour. I am going for sure!!!

nice article = she sounds " content / happy" with the way her life is going = I can't wait to see her in SOI = love her spirals = no one comes close to extending their leg so straight and high and her lay back spins are awesome = in what ever she choses to do I'm sure she'll do it well

Oh, I don't know. She still has a career skating with SOI and doing other shows. Her education is no worse than that of many who sat in classrooms. She's got a million dollars in the bank from performing in competitions and exhibitions and from endorsing products. She has had a taste of celebrity.

I never feel sorry for athletes who find their careers winding down. They have the same options that any of us do -- go back to school or get a job.

Well, some of you folks are finally figuring out what I concluded a year and a half ago. Talk is just talk. She won't be back. It's over for her.

OTOH, good to see she's being realistic. But as I said before, she can always go to Vancouver for the Olympics. But she doesn't have to compete at Vancouver to get "the experience".

Let's move on, shall we.

Rather than start a whole new thread, I'll just use this one to mention that she gave a free performance in Santa Monica last week, to inaugurate the opening of a temporary skating rink a couple of blocks from where the old Ice Capades Chalet used to be.
