Survivor China - Anyone Watching???

I'm glad PG is gone, too!!! Was that a bunch of sour grapes out of PG's mouth or what...."boo hoo, I took Denise, she didn't take me"...Nobody twisted her arm to take Denise and it's a game of strategy, not making friends.
But I'm sorry I have to go against your enthusiasm for Courtney to win, Dee.
My choice for final two would be Amanda and Denise, with Denise the victor. Rooting for the underdog and whom I think is probably most needy of the winnings. Of course, who I want to win all these different reality contest shows rarely wins.

It seems like this Survivor went by really fast. I think Amanda will be the next one off. I think the remaining ones know that she could win the jury votes. I think the final 2 will be Todd and Courtney!! The reason I cheer for Courtney is that I could win the game at work....$100

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who may have had to tape the finale so I won't post too much....
I was kind of surprised at the outcome and somewhat disappointed just because of how I personally felt about the last 4. However, except for one I REALLY didn't want to win, and one I was kind of back & forth about, I wasn't super disappointed at who won.
I thought it was awful how Denise got demoted from serving lunches to having to be a janitor because she was too popular after the show...Apparently her new work hours are causing her to miss out on her kids' sport events and stuff.
I missed who won the special $100,000 prize. I didn't look it up on-line yet.
So what are everyone elses thoughts????
Overall, I thought this was a really good Survivor.
On a side note, was very happy to see all the advertisements for BB9 and Jericho to start on February 12. Hopefully Lost isn't too far behind!!! Need something to watch on all those cold winter nights while I wait for baseball to start again!

James won the $100,000. viewer prize but because Denise gave a song & dance about losing her lunch lady job & now has to work as a janitor cleaning toilets & floors the producer awarded her a special sympathy prize of $50,000.

I was happy about James winning the popular prize. I agree about Denise and I wish they didn't let everyone know that she got a sympathy payout.
I'm glad that Amanda came in last. Of all the people she was the most deceiving even though she didn't think so. I'm glad the people on the jury saw through her. Of all the jurors I couldn't stand looking at PG, what a witch!!
I thought Courtney was the most unconventional player in the history of Survivor and made it as runner up. Yay!! I won $50 in the work survivor game. My heart did start pounding when she got 2 votes.

Congratulation on your win Dee!
As much as some of the things Courtney did annoyed the heck out of me, I have to admit that there were times she said some really smart or sensible things.
PG was definitely acting witchy...I'd like to use a stronger word but know it isn't nice!

I just came across this statement from Denise's superintendent. It seems Denise lied about being demoted from her lunch lady status. She had requested and received a promotion to custodian (more pay) before she even taped the show. I am so very disappointed in Denise. I really thought she had more integrity than that. :disapp:

re. Denise: Well, THAT'S interesting, given how much she was going off about honesty at Final Tribal Council....:sheesh: I was kind of irritated with her anyway; if she'd gone with PG and Erik and taken out Todd, she would have made the game even MORE interesting. What was she thinking, anyway?? It should have been clear to her that she was DEFINITELY #4 in that alliance without PG pointing it out to her; what did she think was going to happen when it was down to 4?? Then to top it off she gives Amanda that big sob story about how "this is it for her" and if she'd gone with PG and Erik she wouldn't have had to do that. So I was totally out of sympathy in that department by then.
I do have to say, tho I found Courtney highly abrasive (even more so than PG, who I actually DID like), she won my respect by the end. She's a "what you see is what you get" girl and THE MOUTH is part of that, and I respect that. Plus she made I think the best case for herself in front of the jury.
I would have voted for Amanda, tho. Deceptive? Yeah, so?? Like NO ONE who won Survivor ever has been before. She won a lot of points with me with her taking out James manuever, which I thought was one of the smartest things I'd ever seen. (Tho she was admittedly helped out by James' temporary stupidity with the idols). And if Denise hadn't waffled, I think she would have taken Todd out, too. I think Todd actually did play the best game, but those cocky self-satisfied smirks every time someone got voted out, plus his HIGHLY condescending speech to the jury, just really got on my nerves.
I must say tho, that I have never before seen three finalists who actually looked BETTER after being on "the island" for 39 days than they did in the studio!! Amanda looked OK, but looked so much prettier without the makeup; Courtney looked cute in China but trashy in the studio, and as for Todd -- in the studio, he looked like a hobbit who had run away from Middle Earth to join a New Wave band.
Overall, I have to rate this edition 2nd behind Pearl Islands, and just ahead of Australia, out of the ones I've seen from start to finish. Definitely one of the best -- and if they'd taken Todd out earlier, it could have been even better.

Jonny, I agree that most people who win are coniving and deceiving but Amanda came across as not being that and denying that she was, that's why I didn't like her. I have a boss who is like that and it is so easy for me to pick people out who are like that. Now, with Courtney, if you asked her if she was sly, coniving and whatever else, she would probably say .....hell yes, that's me!!

I wanted Amanda to win but have to agree she fell apart at the final. Her speech was so lukewarm & apologetic. Denise was never a favorite of mine. I almost gagged when she announced that if she'd gone to the final 3 she would have won. She contributed nothing to the game except to vote as she'd been instructed to do. Delusional woman.

I so agree with you about Denise. She did not play the game, she just went along with everyone else, and quit at TWO challenges! I think she thought she was on a vacation.
