Survivor China - Anyone Watching???

I think it's misdirection and Amanda will not vote out Todd..

The final will either be
Todd/Amanda/Courtney

Todd/Amanda/ Denise.. I suspect the final is Todd/Amanda/Courtney because Courtney has made more enemies with her attitude...

I think Amanda wins this one... Frosti/Erik were ticked of at the hamburger eaters, and Amanda participated in the Challenge. Also notice how Amanda was the only main alliance member who greeted Erik, Pei Gee and Denise when they returned from reward. Then, there was the fact that Amanda was the only person besides Probst who wasn't laughing when James was voted out. In spite of the fact, that it was Amanda's idea to take him out.

While Todd is busy congratulating his mastermindness, he's failing to notice that he actually has to convince people to vote for him in the end. He's going around vaciliating, saying this person or that, and not doing simple things like playing nice to Pei Gee and Erik, whereas Amanda's making friends. Amanda wins this thing quite easily.

Anyone else watch Big Brother? James not using the idol when he had two of them is right up there for dumbest move (or non-move) ever along with Big Brother's Marcellas not using the Power of Veto on himself and getting voted out!

I don't think that James not using it is at the same level as Marcellas. Because that was the only time Marcellas had left to use the power of the veto. (It was only good for that competition) and Marcellas didn't use it because he wanted to take that vote as well, a statement on how well everyone loved him...

James on the other was trying to save the vetos, so he could use them for two of the harder councils were things would get more dicy.

I think James trusted too much. I liked his final words which were quite nice and he took all the blame for not using the idols. I wonder if they will be eating and who's going to make the fires??

JonnyCoop, I can't stand PG, just based on how she acts. I was surprised that she wore such revealing clothes when she went to the temple.

I want Courtney to win....yay for Courtney!!!

I believe that because of her background Amanda will be able to build fires & Denise should be able to do the cooking. I admire James for how graciously he accepted his elimination.

I'm another one that thought James was very gracious in his speech about getting voted off. He didn't try to blame anyone else, in fact, gave them kudos for doing what they were supposed too do.

I HOPE PG and Courtney do not make it to final 3. A totally personal feeling, they just both grate on my nerves so badly.

I think James was gracious, but I still don't think he gets why his team did what he did. In his entire after day speech he talked about how he thinks they made the wrong decision and made things harder for themselves.

I don't think James understands that the reason his alliance took him out was because they felt they couldn't beat him in the final vote, and weren't sure they could beat him in the final immunity challenge, and that's why he left.. I think that James' aliance geniunely liked James, but they realized that they were here to play a game, not make friends.

I thought James was very gracious in his farewell. He did say that he understood why they would vote him out and that it was good gameplay. I'm pretty sure he's kicked himself for not using one of the idols.

Based upon Denise's speech, I would have pulled one out. Then, again, we could see what was going on - it certainly is easy to second guess from the comfort of home. I think that he let his guard down because he trusted Denise to say something to him (Remember - she voted for PG during the last attempt to blindside James.)

Voting off James was smart unless you were willing to give him a free pass to the finals. He had 2 immunity idles, he is hard to beat at immunity challenges, we were nearing the end. I was amazed they finally had the brains to make a smart strategic choice rather then just go on whim-of-the-moment like decisions like they had so far. Like a couple weeks ago Eric does goat imitations and acts cute near the girls on the ship and suddenly he stays around when he wasnt before. It is like a high school soriety club or something at times.

Well, to be fair, it's not like she had a whole steamer trunk with an extensive wardrobe in it at her disposal. I doubt when people pack for "Survivor", they include Temple Wear in their planning....

The reason they kept Erik over Frosti was because 1. Frosti was more of an immuntiy threat than Erik, who according to interviews isn't doing so well health wise.
2. They were concerned about the Frosti/Courtney friendship... Yeah, Amanda liked Erik but she'll have no problem taking him out when necessary.

Well, in theory he was hard to beat at immunity challenges, but the irony is, he didn't actually win one. In this edition, being the "big buff dude" actually seemed to work against him -- The log rolling challenge that Courtney won definitely favored people who weighed about 4 ounces -- I seem to recall that everyone fell off more or less in descending order of how much they (seemingly) weighed; the "Stabbing The Puzzle Pieces" challenge could have been won by anyone (and IIRC James opted to eat hamburgers instead of doing it); and the Throwing Stars -- well, you get too much torque on that type of thing (as I'm sure James did) you can miss the target.

As to them "finally having the brains to make a smart strategic choice" -- ITA. You'd think you'd see stuff like this more often on Survivor, but for some reason you rarely do. It's like they get their strategy together long about Day Four and hang onto it come hell or high water.....:frown2:

One of my questions was answered last night....James took the immunity idols home with him! I didn't know if they'd be re-hidden or just left up for grabs at camp or what...now I know!

Ugh, not happy with who won individual immunity last night...okay with who went home...Was a good episode with the tribes members getting to see their family members!

Didn't want to go into detail so as not to spoil anyone...will post more when I see other posts!

I always thought the times the families were brought out to be a bit phony and over the top. It's not like they have not seen each other for months.........I mean what do these adults do when they go on vacation.........:disapp::frown2: It seems the players try to show who emotes the most to demonstrate what wonderful, loving people they are so everyone likes them, incl. the jury? What a bunch of dribble:cry::cry::boohoo::rolleye:

I don't know if it's phony....maybe the conditions they are under is what makes it more emotional than if you were at a resort or some place nice away from your family. But what gets me somewhat is that they see their families so close to going home, some closer than others to going home...why is it so hard to say goodbye to them. They seem like it'll be 3 years before they'll see them again rather than a week or so.

And thank you for the compliment on my Christmas signature photo. Those are my 3 girls, Philly, Kit and Molly!

I tend to agree that 40 days without amenities is not a vacation. Also, you're competing with the others. So, you're around people who you essentially must not trust completely. That's pretty stressful. Also, being tired from lack of good sleep and hungry (sure, they are eating, but probably not enough calories to support all the physical conditions.)

Seeing a loved one from home just reminds you of the comforts of home and you're actually seeing someone that you can let your guard down with. Seeing them leave is just hard because it's time to be on guard again and just because you realize how close you are to the end, which is why you have to be even more into gameplay. So, I certainly don't blame them for being over emotional.

Most of the competitors feel that the visit from family is what revives them. It reminds them of why they are trying to win.

Personally, I don't know what it is about the "Family Reunion Episodes" that make me tear up, but they get me every dang time....

I've pretty much established that I don't like Courtney, but how funny was she when she was re-enacting the whole Todd thing for the camera?? "And then Jeff says -- what's wrong, Todd? and Todd says -- sigh -- sob!! -- 'Oh, Jeff -- sob! -- my sister lost the baby!!":rofl::rofl: I about fell off the couch!!

So I guess the legacy of Jonny Fairplay (my personal all-time most hated Survivor 'cast member'; if I'd been on Pearl Islands with him I'd've gone after him with a machete long about Day Six) is, any bad news that is delivered during the Family Reunion Episode will not be believed whether it's true or not. That being said, under those circumstances, why would you deliver bad news like 7 seconds after you pop out of the bushes?? Yeah, Todd DID ask, but why not just say "fine" and then tell him later (even if it's after he gets voted off)?? I sense manipulation on the part of SOMEONE (either CBS or Todd's sister, or both) and that doesn't sit well with me personally.
