I want him to win, but I hope he's not dwelling on it or thinking about it at ALL. That will just throw him off. He needs to concentrate ONLY on what he needs to do, each element, and on not popping anything. Stay Calm Mura! :agree:

Actually, I'd like to think that this is more of "beginning", rather than being Mura's "last" chance! He's getting stronger every year still! ;)

Takahito, I think people do appreciate you a lot, much more than what media tries to imply!
You're not only a wonderful skater, but one fine young man too, always kind, respectul and thinking of other skaters... :luv17:

Okay, I think main reason I'm still sad is that I thought his chance of going to World is now very slim.
But after researching & gathering data, I start to see some hope... although I don't want to put my hopes up...

MURA still has chance, according to the official criteria.

Spot #1: UNO (Japan National Winner)
Spot #2: HANYU (Most likely. Being one of TOP 2 GPF participant.)

Spot #3: Below are the criteria
1) Being 2nd/3rd at Japan National - M: 3 vs T: 2
2) Being 4th/5th/6th at Japan National - it doesn't apply to them
3) ISU World Standing Top 3 - M: 13 vs T: 20
4) ISU Season Best Score Top 3 - M: 252.20 vs T: 248.44

* Actually official criteria do not consider individual GPS placements of results.
AND despite the "impression" of finishing order, their results from CS/GPS/National are quite similar.

I also think Mura still has better technical potential - PB (M: 268.43 vs T: 248.44) and could have better chance internationally IF he does perform well. (Keiji's best scores are from one NHK only)

BUT 3rd vs 2nd place in National makes a big difference, and overall "impressions" are probably against Takahito... so that is why many saying that Keiji will be selected. I'll be totally happy for him, but I kind of think IF they make selection according to their official criteria, Takahito actually have a solid chance, IMO.

But you know, from how he's been treated in the past, I'm not trying to expect too much. I guess I just gathered this data, just to calm myself... or maybe Mura should hire me so I can present this data to JSF!! hehe. ;)

I absolutely believe that they will send Mura to the Worlds. How can they not? Mura has been around for a long time while Tanaka is fairly new and most people haven't heard of him but everyone is familiar with Takahito. When he's on, he's on so what's not to love so hopefully the JSF realizes he has a strong fan following and will do the right thing and send him. He SO deserves it! Especially for the strong work ethic he has and not to mention that he never gives up not matter what under-scored marks are thrown at him. I'm sticking to my story until I hear otherwise. So, until then, it's Mura all the way! Congrats on making the podium! I hope to see you on another podium in the near future.

He got Asian Winter Game. Which is a pity. I thought they should have sent him to 4CC.
 
Oh... TAKAHITO... :cry:

So no Worlds, no 4CC for him... I'm just heartbroken again... :sad4:
(TBH I still think Mura should go to either one of them at least, if not for both. I mean... He is 13th in World Standings and he was on the podium in Japan Nationals... Congrats on Shoma, Yuzuru and Keiji though!)

He'll go to Asian Winter Games, so I'm glad that I will be able to see him perform once again this season.
(Hopefully there will be some good live streaming available.)
But he won't be able to collect any ISU points... which could hurt him next season in terms of World Standings.
That means his chance of going to next Olympics could become harder... :(

Oh well, I still believe in him that he will have great skate at Asian Winter Games and come back even stronger next season.
Right now though... I'm just so sad... :sad21:
So sad that I 'almost' don't want to watch figure skating any more...
(* I know I can never do that because I love this sports way too much.)

While I'm super sad for him, I think it's better now, than Olympic season. No Worlds means he can start preparation for Olympics earlier. Besides, usually before 4CC starts, many of original teams change due to skaters WD form various reasons. There is enough time, for anything to happen, like Yuzuru deciding to WD or something. So I think there is still chance, though it's very small.

I'm still super sad... too sad that I haven't even feel like following Russian Nationals, which I was so looking forward to... AND doing the Data Analysis for Japan Nationals which will be such a painful thing to do... but OTOH I think I should do it to help seeing what really went wrong for Takahito... so I want to do it late on. ;)

But looking at myself still weeping, it only assures me how much I love :love: MURA :love: as a skater. He still is my #1, no matter what!! :gaah:
 
Really love this SP of Taka's. The steps are just so wonderful! This will be a tough act to follow next year. Wonder if there is any chance he will keep this program for next year. It is definitely a winner, as is he!
 
Takahito skated just great! :rock: Such a shame he didn't win SP last night, but point-wise the difference among top 4 is slim, hoping he will finish on the podium on Sunday. Good luck! :cheer:

Agreed. Spanish style suits Takahito's very 'manly' skating with powerdul jumps. :yes: Nornally I don't like top skaters to repeat/keep the program for next season tbh, but would be a good choice for him to prepare FULLY for next season and more importantly J-Nats to sneak into the National team for Oly Games.
 
^^^I suppose it wouldn't be good to keep both programs, but I felt like with his Rach FS, he never quite did justice to it. I'm not sure why - it's wonderful choreography from Charlie White, but the FS definitely seemed to be his nemesis...Hope he can conquer it and do it justice today! Good luck Taka!!!
