Um, forgive me for cutting in on this discussion but we were not questioning his coaching credentials, rather his morals and abillity for communication with any type of character that comes his way, which you must admit a coach needs to be prepared for. Not all athletes will fit the same mold for character.

As you wrote - not every coach is right for every skater and vice versa. Trankov correctly realized that it was not the right situation for him, and when the opportunity presented itself, he moved on. No need for over the top commentary about karma and divine justice (I should hope that if such a thing indeed exists, any divine justice is saved for more important matters).

do you have any objection in particular against us saying positive things about this couple or are we somehow breaking some laws of the forums here? I am new to this forum and would like to know these things so I don't commit some unforgivable errors.

It looks like this thread has drawn a lot of new posters whose main interest is expressing their admiration for V/T as skaters and people. This is fine, but if that's the main focus of this thread, then it belongs in the fanfest section of the forum, where fans can have positive-only discussions of their favorites. The fanfest section was introduced in the 2011-12 season, and I think it's a good idea for fans to have a place where they can discuss their favorites without interruption from those who feel otherwise. If it's in The Edge, however, then any skater is fair game for criticism and debate, so long as the posts are in line with forum rules.

So: If people want to spend their time expressing their delight about all things V and T, well, it's not something I find interesting myself, but there is nothing wrong with it. But again, in that case, it should be a fanfest thread. And I don't see why that requires trashing other people in the skating world, so I do object to some of those posts.

Almost forgot, Orangella -- thank you for posting the 2011 EBT video! Must admit that I didn't really pick up on the blushing part, but I got to see them look gorgeous skating together, so it was totally worth it. #fanfestforever

This years' SP frp, ;asquarade music is probably one of the best examples of that. They are not only skating to this waltz, but also depicting the drama from Lermontov's play.

I appreciated so much your explanation of their Masquarade Waltz routine and insight into how they handled the bracelet in all of the different competitions. Thank you! As so many others, I love, love, love that routine!

Hahaha, agreed! Heaven forbid a thread contain mostly praise for a skater/pair/team....
I don't comment much here, but this thread makes me smile! I love V/T; and seeing all of the updates you guys graciously post for those of us that can't speak Russian or didn't know where to find recent pics and info on them - thank you!!!
