I am not suprised at all (Are you?). They are done with skating. Sad but true. I wish them all the best for the future.
 
Weeellllllll, no I am not surprised at all. But this is not the end! It might be the beginning of something new....;) I hope they enjoy their new "freedom", they deserve to enjoy life.
 
I'm not surprised they've opted to skip the season. If they retire, they'll go out as one of the greatest pairs the sport has ever produced. :)
 
I'm actually quite happy for them. It's nice to see them being able to make their own choices regarding their career without being pressured by the federation. I think fans, and especially sports fans know when an athlete is not putting it all out there, whatever the reason might be.

It may not be an official retirement but I wish them all the best.
 
I'm not surprised as well. It's their life and their choice - and whatever they decide I wish them all the best, too.

Besides, it's widely rumored and guessed now (given their being over-careful at the show, skipping the season and some other hints).... that may it be that they are expecting a baby already?... ;) If it's true, I would be so happy for them!

That crossed my mind too, Borzaya... and if that's the case, I'd be overjoyed for them! Whatever the reason, I'm not surprised and I'm happy for them that they've decided to make their own choices about their career, since it did seem like they were pressured to go to Worlds last season. And who knows, maybe this isn't retirement (though I wouldn't blame them if it was).

What other hints? I might have missed them..

they did skate without throws or jumps but a few of the lifts were quite challenging. Besides they are supposed to take part in kings on ice which is until December. If they are expecting then it's probably a very recent surprise imo. For now they have Maxim's little niece.. his brother posted a few pics of her and she's too cute! Her eyes are just like Maxim's!

Well that was my guess too :) I wondered about the show programm without jumps and throws... and in the news where Nina Mozer said, that they will skip the season, she mentioned what Maxim will do but not what Tanya will do... It would be so wonderful for them!!! I hope our guesses are right!
 
How wonderful it is that the majority of fans want the best for them, even if it means that we are not going to see them in competition again.

If Tanya IS pregnant then it's probably not gonna show till late in the pregnancy. She's so small and she's got a body to die for. lol
 
It was said Trankov promised he would never skate in "Ice Age"... So people were not sure, that they should trust the rumour.

But now one singer already says he will be her partner. She says she tries to turn into a beauty from a beast, that she doesn't want to drag Maxim's bright name in the mud.

Well, I can't promise, that it will be beautiful, but... we hope for the best.

I really think it can be useful for Trankov, if he wants to be a coach. Actually, these skaters help each other, I think all of them are ready to share their experience...

Yes, Averbukh is very stubborn. One more "Ice Age"... :palmf: :)

What a joy!!! We already knew it, didn't we? Oh I am sooooo happy for them! This will change their life completely! There is no better reason for skipping a season than that :biggrin:
I wish Tanya a very happy pregnancy and hope that she can enjoy every day of it. It's such a special time in a woman's life!

Yaaaaay! Our suspicions were right. Congratulations to them! I hope Tatiana has a happy, stress-free pregnancy and that the baby is healthy.

It is normal, if they both understand, that such a man can be a problem for a woman during the childbed.

And it is OK, that Maxim is not shy to seem strange or funny, when he speaks. This is one more game for him.

Such a man can be an amazingly good father. And can be very responsible.

Tanya also says Maxim likes to make surprises for her. He can cook meal, if Tanya asks him to. (from another interview)


Averbukh will have to watch Trankov and Yagudin, so that these two never met in one corner and didn't destroy the TV-studio. :palmf: :)

When Trankov and Yagudin were in Korea together, one of the readers commented in Trankov's instagram: "Be careful there, don't destroy Korea ))))"
