I agree... Though I was rooting for our second pair, Stolbova/Klimov, I am glad, nevertheless, for Savchenko/Szolkowy... it was really a beautiful way for them to finish their career like that... I indeed feel pity that they retire - I've got so used to them, to our skaters always competing with them, I liked many of their programs, and I've always respected them as strong and worthful rivals for our skaters...
 
I've been away far too long and have had a lot of adorable photos and videos to catch up on! you all are some serious detectives. I so want a video of that AOI after party as well but those pics will do fine for now :popcorn:

I don't have an icenetwork account (for the states), where else have you seen the pairs programs online? They aren't televised in the states :( Only on the IceNetwork if you pay for a subscription. I'm really happy for Savchenko/Szolkowy. I imagine they're retiring soon and this was nice to end on a high note. Klimov and Stolbova have some definite longevity and will be skating for several years. I see them being good competition for Max and Tanya. Sort of how Scott and Tessa and Charlie and Meryl train together and are each others top competitors.

Think it will be for both theor benefits if V/T and S/K train together.
But I recognized that Ksenia didn't look happy about the second place at the worlds at all....

Even though Max seemed to get over the break up fairly quick, I´m convinced they tried their best to save their relationship (at least Sasha). I can imagine that it must be hard to break up with each other if you´ve been together for such a long time, especially for Sasha. I can see guilt playing a big part here.
 
Speaking again about the Worlds - I strongly hoped that Maxim would be commenting again at these Worlds, but no. It's a common practice in Russia that fs commentators sometimes invite this or that skater or coach, and they comment together. So, Maxim debuted as a commentator at the Russian Nationals in December (they were skipping the national championship), and later both Max and Tatiana helped commenting the Olympics, after they had won the pair competitions... So, I thought it very likely to hear them again at these Worlds (as they didn't compete, but still came to Japan), but it didn't happen :(

I agree. When he and Tanya were getting more friendly in October 2011 he posted in the beginning of November this puzzle A tattoo with a heart maybe to make up for his "bad" public behavior. Max and Tanya had obviously been attracted to each for months! While some others have noted shes not as classy as Tania she's definitely beautiful and sexy. I think maybe they both tried to make it work but both realized it was over and amicably split. Tanya continued to like a bunch of her photos into 2012.

Are there any youtube videos of Max's commentary? I can only imagine Tanya's commentary. She seems so sweet that I don't think she'd have anything critical to say about anyone!

Well, I don't remember exactly now what was said - but no, they both didn't seem too critical, as far as I can remember...

The regular commentator begins, and Max joins in at about 1:40.
And you can have a glimpse of Tatiana sitting among the audience at 1:37.

I totally agree. The emotional part can be pretty overwhelming whether things are actually physical or not......and with the way skating partners spend so much of their time in such close physical contact :eek:.........I still believe that once Max ended it with Sasha, things would have moved pretty quickly with Tanya.

Loving all the new photos today! Had to laugh at the fridge. My fridge is also covered with travel destination magnets and a photo booth strip, although not an awesome V/T one ;)

So happy for you Borzaya!!! :clap:
 
Yes so excited for you too Borzaya! I got tickets for Stars on Ice to see the US Olympians and national champs but I SO SO want to see Max and Tanya even more! My only hope is maybe Skate America which they SHOULD be announcing the location of soon. I've been looking every day with no announcement yet! GRRRR. :think:
 
Thank you!!!! I've been googling it and this hasn't popped up at all! May be in for a trip to Chicago his year though I wish it was closer to the west coast!

And by "quickly" I mean within days, if not HOURS - ha ha. With the photo/video evidence that we have, I'm guessing that his emotional connection had already transferred from Sasha to Tanya quite some time before he actually broke up with Sasha. Wishful thinking I know, but..... :rolleye:

They just announced it two days ago, so chances are it hadn't made its way around the internets yet.

Too bad the commentary video is geoblocked for me, but I assume it's in Russian so I wouldn't understand anyway.

JCSKIZZLE thank you for the videos. They are a nice treat and we do find out more about them, even though sometimes I wish Maxim would speak a bit less LOL so we can hear Tanya too. And the 'treat' when he's changing his t-shirt :popcorn: and Tanya hugging him after.
