Tatsuki Machida

@shingalas. Well, you're overly sensitive because I've seen many comparisons/dissecting scores/complaining about scores/undue downplaying toward their skaters' competitors all the time in fan fest threads at GS and I don't think we here have crossed a line since we've talked about well-known things. Skaters are not free of comparisons due to the sport's character, so I was sometimes almost compelled to react to some skaters' threads out of anger, but refrained to do so because those were their imaginations and evaluations based on ''their view'' regardless of what I happen to strongly oppose. I hope you keep your own words sincerely. Thanks.

I've been looking at old TJ footage...and noticed that Machida had pierced his ears and wore little hoops.
He and Mura seemed to be going for the 'young punk' look back in 2010. :) How things have changed. http://40.media.tumblr.com/e61d0887210dbd1ddb32bdc9487bd906/tumblr_njh1hhiPjF1tzdqszo1_500.jpg
Perhaps this has been posted already as it is on the Machida tumblr.
I've seen the photo after ioanap introduced a 4CC fluff in which Mura and Murakimi missed Tatsuki by mentioning their young period.
Tatsuki was really a beautiful boy back then. I was gonna post about his piercing but you beat me. :)

Actually Shingalas is right about Fan Fest threads.
From the guidelines:
We envision Fan Fests as fun places to read, post, and celebrate your favorites.

Please remember that this forum is not exempt from the Guidelines. As always, be respectful to each other's threads when posting and enjoy!

Fan Fest posters should be able to "gush," but NOT at the expense of another skater or of another skater's fans. That's just rude and and not very constructive.

Nor should folks who do not like a skater go to that skater's Fan Fest to troll or to "police" the fans there.

So if you did find a post that was disparaging of other skaters on a Fan Fest thread, and thought it was out of line; that is what the 'report' button is for.

Let's keep Fan Fests as friendly and as positive a place as possible.

So, back to Machida, he seems to metamorphose often in his life. Unlike many who do not change very much the whole way through.
I hope he comes back to skating, as he said he had an interest in show running, and producing. We could see something really interesting from him in a few years.

Yeesh, talk about oversensitive. I guess it doesn't matter that I've translated news about Machida before in this very thread and that I'm a big fan. :rolleye: If you saw something out of line before in another Fan Fest thread, maybe you should have gently stepped in like I did, I've even done it before in the Hanyu thread on Machida's behalf. My point is, this conversation sparked about the scoring at 4CC could have easily taken place in the 4CC thread, no?

Taken from the rules about the Fan Fest:
Fan Fest posters should be able to "gush," but NOT at the expense of another skater or of another skater's fans. That's just rude and and not very constructive.

ETA: sorry, thank you Newbiespectator! You beat me to it :drama:

That's right, he was 16. He even competed at the senior National Championship (for the first time) wearing the earrings.

Must have scandalized some of the organizers! I wish I could have seen their faces. --that may be a reason why he stopped wearing them though. :drama:

Tatsuki Machida to attend Prince Ice World Yokohama, first ice show after retirement
Source

After the surprise retirement announcement at the end of the last National Championship, Machida's attendance at Prince Ice World was announced today, February 19th. He will come back on ice and skate at all of the Yokohama shows on April 25, 26, 29 and May 2, 3).

As far as I know Prince Ice World should be televised just like the last year's shows when Tatsuki made the debut of his self choreographed program Je Te Veux.

Great news ionap! :cheer:

Great news! I'm glad that Tatsuki doesn't become a hermit after retirement. Anyways is Haruka Imai going to Prince Ice World as well? (Oh my ship)

Yay! Oh, sometimes I MISS the retired members of Team Japan. I think they all retired too early!! Just one more year guys!
It's unreasonable, but it is how I feel.

In Tatsuki's case, he retired much too early so it's not unreasonable to want more from him.

I wonder as to where he will train himself after moving to Tokyo for his study. Of course, Tatsuki will prepare the show in a rink provided by the show host, but I hope he keeps training so would not loose the sense of figure skating. He was trained in a school rink of Kansai University, but Waseda Univ. doesn't have a rink at all.

I'm also curious about what programs he will present and the show will include a new EX for him.

Haruka doesn't usually attend Prince Ice World, she only went once in 2013. But they're both regulars of Fantasy On Ice so maybe that will be the next show Tatsuki will attend. :)

I've been wondering about this myself. He should have a place to train before the show though but I'm not sure whether he'll have time to prepare a new program.

:yay: Maybe he'll debut another self-choreographed program this year? (Though I don't mind seeing his current programs again).

Can't wait to see them side by side.

Found this beautiful gif on tumblr and had to post it here.

It's the layback spin from Je Te Veux. I love the position of his arms, back and free leg. He looks like a small doll in a music box. :)

If there is a music box featuring a doll with the music, I would like have one. :) His balletic posture and light mood are what I really like about the EX. That also has a story in it!
