TEB on YouTube

I just watched Mao and Kimmie's SP. I would have Kimmie in first place, Kimmie had more speed, her spins were more centered and her footwork was better, than Mao.Overall imo Kimmie deserved first place. Kimmie has really moved her SP up a couple of notches from SA. She was great. JMO

I totally agree!! More power to Kimmie for addressing areas of her skating that needed improvement. Keep up the great work!

I am not a Kimmie fan but I must say that this program does suit her style. I just wish she was a little more graceful with her arm movements.

WTH did she get a time deduction..? The music was still playing when she went into the final position. And if the music itself was too long, wouldn't it get penalized at SC as well..?

I loved the program, although it looks like she had a bit of problem with timing - she started her step sequence too late and then "chased" the music, trying not to lose the levels on the way. I think she invented the new finishing position out of the lack of time to get into the original one. ;)

Lovely spiral and much improved spins. I love how she does the change of foot in the combo spin.

Too bad about the 3A - it looked rock solid in the practices. However, considering that at SC she didn't feel capable of landing it at all, it is impressive that in just 2 weeks she polished it enough to attempt it here. Plus, it is good that she did not gave up the program after the fall, as she had a tendency to do last season.

Thank you for posting the link, ANW.

ETA: I was wrong, it looks like she started the step sequence even a bit earlier... Did she add some more features to try for lvl4..? Or is the music just somewhat de-synched in the video..? That would explain the deduction and why some of the moves seemed to me not as right-on-the-beat as at SC...
Well, no time to think about that now, I'm about to fall asleep on the keyboard. I just waited to see D/S, K/N and Asada's programs. ;)

Mao's LP with the sound not off (starts like right before the 3A):

She finished a tiny bit behind the music. Doesn't seem like enough to warrant a deduction.

I take back anything bad I've said about Mao today. Even with the fall on the 3A, this was superior to her LP at Skate Canada...is it just me, or has her sit spin gotten lower than two weeks ago?

Kimmie seems to have improved alot, as I can see it. She was much faster and just seemed more confident. I do however, dislike her dress. The skirt is much too long and not falling right. Maybe she will change it for future competitions.

Her SP dress is rather meh, but her LP dress in the wine red is just

Thanks for the link to the Asada vid. Seems like the audio and video were out of sync a bit (the audience had a delayed reaction, etc.) but I say other than the fall, pretty solid. The REAL showdown is going to be at the GPF with her and Kim, and again at worlds.
