Next season’s SD is tango, right? Omg that could be epic. However, I’m not sure they will continue. What they’ve achieved is huge, and they know that with P/C around, things won’t be easy. And let’s not forget...fan wars may become even more unbearable!

I was so annoyed when I heard that Tango Romantica was going to be the compulsory portion for next season. As much as I loved VMs SD this year, their CD from Vancouver is one of the reasons I fell in love with them and really wanted to see them do it again but oh well.

Their free dance in Vancouver was quite a moment. Tracy Wilson mentioned that was the first time she heard the audience clapping to a compulsory dance. Even if one doesn't have technical knowledge of compulsory dances, one can appreciate the matching body lines they create using deep edges (eg. 1:37 in the video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dd9lgrhhEw

On polish forum lyżwyfigurowe czo noone tells that tessa sabotaged gabbi dress .i read it so I know

Then let me rephrase - some insinuations can be found there about something happening to Gabriella's dress and the context is quite obvious about who could do it, not even pointing fingers directly. And as I said originally - it is a 'theory', not statements said out loud, that I understood from particular narrative placed on the forum, you are free to understand/interpret it otherwise.

There is a whole lot of harmful, unjustified insinuations swirling around without any solid proof and that alone makes me appalled. But yeah, nothing new under the sun, after 'earrings gate', being flag bearers to prop them up, twisting up Scott's comments on their own performances after NHK. Better to focus on conspiracy theories than actual performances I guess.

Please do not dignify ridiculous conspiracy theories by repeating them, even to deny them.

But please, if you see an unsourced conspiracy espoused, report it to the mods?

You said. I repeat

"This is nothing comparing to absurd theory voiced on Polish forum that Tessa sabotaged Gabriella's dress"
I didnt read anything like that on polish forum, so please, dont make it up. Someone there was angry becasue P/c lost due to dress , but that person did not make insinuations about Tessa. He/she made a point that they would have won if not that dress. Like many people say all over the world.

London went crazy when they arrived home 100's of people showed up. Some one gave Tessa a tragically hip bottle of wine. They look shocked overwhelmed excited and exhausted

I think it was so beyond nice of Tessa and Scott to stay and take photos with fans at the aiport. On instagram there's hoardes of photos of fans with them, and some reported they stayed and signed autographs/took photos for over an hour. Can you imagine getting off of 24 hours+ of travelling, long haul flights and layovers and being swarmed at the airport? They must have been exhausted but were grinning ear to ear in all the photos I saw and taking pictures with kids. So much respect for them when it would have been so easy to have security escort them off the premises and ignore the fans.

Oh I also wanted to say that a few media outlets from out of town showed up in London as well. Global News and City TV. That pretty great I know it’s not far only a two hour drive but still.

V/M had 10 off ice people as part of their team (nutritionist, trainer, etc) :eeking:. I love how serious they were about this.

Having said that, given the fact that the sport is already expensive if this is the new normal that's a very high cost to entry. It will be interesting to see how big these "teams" get.

ETA: Marie France is so wonderful. I don't know how she discusses 2006 so calmly. I'm still kinda heartbroken about it.

The trick here must be a) combining multiple ice dance teams in one spot - economy in a scaled up, concentrated operation and b) sponsors. Sponsors are willing to invest on a proven quantity that won't, well, embarrass the brand.

Rewatched the movie Moulin Rouge just now and damn -- I have an even greater appreciation of what remarkable performers Scott and Tessa are. They really managed to embody the essence of the two characters to the point where during parts of the movie if you squint, you can easily substitute Kidman and McGregor with Tessa and Scott. Certain facial expressions and body movements were eerily spot on (it helps that Tessa has a passing resemblance to Kidman, and they gave Scott McGregor's haircut ). What's crazier is that there were moments where I went: "huh. Tessa and Scott did that better."

Kudos to the two of them for picking this program, sticking to their guns, and trusting their own instincts.

The rewatch also reminded me that although I really liked the original downbeat ending to the program, the new upbeat ending actually matched the movie much better. Satine's death wasn't quiet, it was instead at the moment of triumph while an audience is on their feet applauding.
