Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir

since I had no access to Twitter/IG earlier at work, just caught up on this 'Hotel California' clip posted above by RemyRose - for me, even from this very short glimpse of their SD I see that they are totally devoted and consumed by picture they want to present and feel they want to give in Latin SD for this upcomig season - it's this aura of unforced sensuality, a communion of whole body movement between two of them...And at the end of the day, it still feels 'Latin' of some sorts, even with no authentic Latin music in use of stereotypical hips shaking/face grabing drama associated with Latin programs on ice. So it is indeed possible to be in the right zon, staying outside of obvous at the same time:)

And their Rhumba pattern is one of the best things ever in Ice Dance for me - so organic, natural, unforced, flowy, yet sharp, decisive. Love those choreo little touches of arms placement. And those edges...

I love their rumba pattern too!!! It's glorious... and this version looks even more "them" than the "hip, hip, chin, chin"

And I am warming up to Moulin Rouge already. I don't know if it is because I haven't seen them skate in a while and they are always mesmerizing, but I was very pleased with the snippets we got... and a V/M tango is always :points:

hi there sarama:), agreeing on such glorious thing is always nice, doubles the pleasure of watching:) and happy to hear your reflections on 'Moulin Rouge'. I saw the clips already too and what can I say - I adore every image, every side presented by Tessa and Scott, but I am especially fond on those drawn by bold, uncompromising line. I think that aside of potential ability of them to portray acutal ML story/caracters or interpreting it/them in their own way, the thing that I am almost certain of is that this program will be an excellent platform to portray a vast array of emotions, shades and moods. And I think that they will be very smart about it by using some of more famous ML piece(s) like 'Tango del Roxanne', but mixing it with less known pieces/tracks - I don't see them doing 'the best/the most famous of ML' type of program. For me, it would be more of creating spellbound, whole, exciting piece of performance, building it on maybe some bolder moments to keeping up the tension until the finale. Clips are more than promising already I have to say - last time I felt like this was back in 2012 watch 'Carmen' FD practice at Skate Canada

I've been lurking here for a while now but I suppose it's never too late to join in! I have to admit that I was initially worried about Tessa/Scott's FD selection because I wanted to see these two perform something non-warhorse related but boy, did they ever prove me wrong. I think it's a testament to how powerful T/S are when we as fans want to see them perform so many different programs because they can make anything work.

I also love how T/S took a different approach with their SD. My first thoughts about latin music choices wouldn't have been a combination of the Stones, Santana and the Eagles (I was thinking something along the lines of Hip Hip Chin Chin). But I think this will set them apart from all the other teams, similar to last season's Prince SD where they went out of the box with their music choices. Honestly I can't wait till ACI, I don't know if I have enough patience to wait this long!!!!

hello randomsplashes:), indeed, it's never too late to join on positive appreciation of Ice Dance excellence and excitement, also represented by Tessa and Scott! I think that the worry and being sceptical were frequent feelings experienced by viewers seeing those choices Tessa and Scott made, because both of them feel unusual/on risky side, especially SD which is already a kind of 'cult piece' (pun intended). Isn't a great thing to feel challenged and dared by Tessa and Scott after so many years in competition? Because I'm feeling just like that, with those clips flowing from HPC teasing my appetite. I cannot wait either to put my eyes on the wholesome of both programs, but patience is a virtue as they say:)

Thank you for the warm welcome! It is such a treat for us fans to see Tessa and Scott push the boundaries of the sport again (which we've already seen with the whole conversation about their SD music choice  -love the pun btw!).

Looks like Tessa posted new pictures from HPC17 and also updated her IG bio page -now it's 20 years skating with Scott!: https://www.instagram.com/p/BYeWftSF-4Y/?hl=en&taken-by=tessavirtue17

We've been touching on these same themes in Patrick's thread: how we were a little concerned when he announced his choices, and then we saw the programs at Onyx (unfinished in places though they were) and we were all blown away. I have a strong feeling Tessa and Scott will do the same. Looking forward to seeing their programs in full!

The Skating lesson tweeted "Early reports of Virtue and Moir's free dance is that it is simply amazing."

When someone replied, "Are we surprised though?", he added "Even by their standards". :hap10: And a couple of other skaters responded.

Eric Radford said, "Tis. Bring Tissues." And Kirsten Moore-Towers said, "It is exceptional. Even for them."

So that sounds good.

Remember what Tessa and Scott did with Carmen? Carmen!!!!

Have faith in the best. They can do miracles with whatever is given, let alone what they choose.

I was a little worried what the FS would turn out like, so relieved that it turned out well! I really want to see it<3 edit: just saw the fs sneak peak clip from camp and I'm even more impressed and excited!:luv17:

I have a love/hate relationship with that blog. On one hand, I'm glad she/he views V/M's skating as superior/amazing but hates that she talks about their private life so much and creates such silly baseless rumours about them.

This blog is quite honestly mean-spirited and feeds all the baser tendencies of fandom. The opposite of what the Olympic spirit should be!
