The 2021 Tayside Trophy

So Anastasia Vaipan-Law & Luke Digby have won their first Pairs International event. Not quite as good as their SP today, but with the Panel scoring every Pair quite high, the news of scoring 100 to win will have been noted by Zoe & Chris, such a shame they weren't here. The British Championships in 3 weeks will be riveting!

Kristina. Black bodysuit, skating to this years warhorse. Paint it Black. Good skate.

Right, just letting you know that I have been catching up on some couple of programmes from earlier (I did watch Ryszard Siudek, and it was heartbreaking). And I am now going to go for my tea. But, first I want to wish all the best to my kid that is coming on now.

You had your best ever SP yesterday, Alika. So, you can do this!

:cheer: ALL THE BEST ALEKSANDRA :cheer:

A Feigin. She has a wrapped bandage around her knee. But she is skating beautifully.

Just caught up on Aleksandra. And I could cry.

It is a beautiful programme, but it just didn't go her way today.

Afterwards, I turned up the volume to hear what Simon was saying to her, and I have to take my hat off to him. He was saying exactly the right thing! He recognised that the Loop going wrong threw her, but he was congratulating her for doing so many triples. And he acknowledged that she will want to have done better, but that she is skating better now than she had been.

That is an experienced coach who knows what his student needs. And I am glad she is working with him.

Looking forward to the next time we see her.

I have just watch Sophia Tkacheva and was just about to go onto Robyn Foster (who was skating straight after her), when I reamembered that my fellow Ulsterman Sam McAllister is the first to go here, and so I could watch him LIVE.

☘️ ALL THE BEST SAM!!! ☘️

Because the Warm-Up wasn't finished when I reached the start of Robyn, I decided to watch on and pause Sam. But, it was only a few minutes delayed.

Mmmm. Sam's not a happy boy. He looked right scundered when he finished.

Again, I turned up the volume to hear the conversation between him and Margaret. Now, I didn't hear everything because they were talking quite quietly. But, from what I could pick up, it was a typical mother-son conversation rather than a typical coach-student conversation. And, it really turned Sam's mood around. So, well done Margaret! (Mummys know their sons better than anybody! ;) )

Right, I'm going to go back and watch another of Margaret's students from earlier: my other fellow Ulsterman, Dillon Judge.

@CaroLiza_fan who is the young gentleman in the purple jacket? I liked him, but I can’t make out what the announcer is saying.

The guy before Conor Stakelum? That's Miłosz Witkowski of Poland.

He and his younger brother, Kornel, are sandwiching Conor. Who I am about to watch.

The guy before Conor Stakelum? That's Milosz WITKOWSKI of Poland.

He and (I assume) his brother, Kornel, are sandwiching Conor. Who I am about to watch.

Well he has a new fan. I have Polish ancestry so it’s fitting.

Ah. Congratulations!

By the way, while you were writing that, I looked them up and found out that they are two of a set of 3 skating brothers. Wiktor Witkowski is the eldest, then Miłosz, and then Kornel.

With Dorota Zagorska in the K&C, so the whole Suidek family are here, and she can comfort young Ryzsard.
