The Figure Skating War on Youtube

I agree with all of you all. This politics with You tube videos, or other website stored videos being removed is crazy. Figure skating is not as popular as other sports. For God's sake why not trying to promote it more. We live in a different world now, than it was before the Internet era. I also hate when a competition is streamed and they stop the stream when the last group is shown on TV. But what happens if you don't have a cable TV? That is so stupid, though I understand the reason behind this decision. Crazy money, money money.
I agree with you about the fact that if ISU is willing to set up the official channels or website for the live stream of the competition. I believe it will be able to promote the sport and I bet fans like me will be willing to pay for more than the subscription fee by the tv broadcasters in order to watch them all especially for fans like me who can't subscribe to EUROSPORT or CBC online due to regional issues

But it does exist and it's free as far as I know. It's for countries whose TV channels didn't buy rights to broadcast ISU competitions.

There is even some sort of archive although a very incomplete one.

Figure skating sure knows how to shoot itself in the foot.

So sad & frustrating going to YT now, I used to spend hours watching skating vids.

So my question is: how do you do it? I used to download movies from YouTube using Airy 2.1, but last week I downloaded a video from Ice Kids (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL_Y_iE9PgY) to MP4 and the downloaded file doesn't want to play on my Windows. I never had problems before, so I don't know what has changed.

I use Opera with VPN, also has some great you tube downloader extensions. There are also some stand alone ones, you just have to find them and try them out-to see what you like. There are NO extensions for use with Chrome that I know of-so you need to use another browser-either Opera, Firefox, or Tor.
