The Judging Controversy Thread

yea its very strange... or does that make sense? is it a "right" score?

regardless, it makes a planned conspiracy fairly unlikely. it is at best a general (strong) lean for sotnikova's performance, which I don't believe counts as any sort of foul play.

I still don't believe a score of 149.95, which apparently they do in the adelina thread. The common post there is either yes, it was deserved, or no comment but "score" doesn't matter - which is a ridiculous notion in itself for a scored competition. Regardless of the score, her overall performance was nothing compared to Yuna 2010. How they could give her a 149.95 immediately after giving Carolina a 142.61 boggles my mind

Mao's highest GOE for jumps and spins are 0.80. Usually her spins are much better but they were a little bit shaky on the free.

I wasn't necessarily referring to GOE. The poster I was replying to made it sound like Mao (with higher BV) was lucky to be so close in in TES to Adelina, when in fact Mao's flutz was called (unlike Adelina's) and at least one (if not both) of her < calls was overly harsh, compared to Adelina's questionable 3T in her opening combo that got a free pass. Adelina rightfully outscored Mao on spins; how she also outscored her in the step sequence is anyone's guess.

I was watching this video on youtube after seeing numerous comments saying how Yuna's choreography was boring and had no fire. Watching side by side, it makes it clear how Yuna's program is packed with beautiful and refined choreography. Her moves are so smooth and magnificent compared to Adelina's rather simple and boring moves. I only remember Adelina waving. I also don't see how Adelina's speed is faster. Everyone says Yuna skates with so much power and speed and it was very apparent when I saw her in person. Maybe Yuna is SLOWER than before because of her deteriorated body condition, but especially when comparing her to Adelina, she is really not slower. I think we are just used to seeing Yuna being so good that we keep comparing her to her original past speed, but then it is not fair because she should be compared to other skaters not to herself in top physical condition. Besides, her skating skills are more polished. Basically, you can't explain how Adelina could have gotten that pcs without judges being rigged.

kim was slow and tentative

adelina was fast and energetic

Kim's step sequence has been receiving Lev3 all season, even at her own Nationals. I don't get the outrage.

Its amazing how these people keep trying to defend the judging with same one liners again and again.

Others might be wise to ignore such posters. They also seem to take turns for different hours. Trolls.

That doesn't mean much. Adelina's step sequence in her Lp has been receiving lv2 or 3 all season (COC, TEB, GF, EUROS)

I think we are confusing arguing the performance, and arguing whether or not there was a conspiracy with the judges

Oh I think Yuna she skate beautiful, and I hope for her to be happy...now everyone angry because of judge...they are evil people, not good. It's not Adelina fault. She is good and can still be good for future. But now everyone angry and sad and Olympics have been spoiled.

I posted that video because people said judges weren't rigged because Adelina did skate better with better choreography, presentation (energy , speed, enthusiasm, etc) and she did in fact out perform Yuna. Even some comments above say Yuna was slow and tentative.

Lier. She received lvl 4. You just proved yourself to be worthless poster. I reported you.

And since when nationals mattered in this forum? She received 80+ for SP in her nationals.

For Kim, it should and would have been lev1?

Sorry? I got the impression you said Yuna's step sequence has been receiving lv3 all season (yes, in 2 competitions), so that automatically means she only deserved lv3 at the last competition this season. And It's wrong.
If your opinion is Yuna's should/would have been lv1 at the Olys, I won't defend bcz it is a clearly biased opinion.
