beside you know who...

All of them had scores above 200 and all had personal bests.

Jeremy Abbott (221.85) he really looked good and I had put him down and out after Skate Canada.

Ryan Bradley (221.31)he was on and Chaplin never looked so good.

Steven Carriere (228.26 he was very good as usual but it was usual, nothing special.

Scott Smith (210.55) he got the audience moving to everyone's surprise. He's actually a good skater. What happened to 'the boys'? they were with Carriere. Scott had a different coach in the K&C.

I ruled out Wesley Campbell despite his high scores. JMO.

Other skatres approaching the 200 mark: Dennis Phan, Shaun Rogers, and my favorite, Tommy Steenberg. Wait till next year!!!

I really enjoyed Steven's programs and will check for him the future... and was pleasantly surprised that Ryan didn't creep me out this year... there is something about him that makes me glad I don't have daughters at college... yikes... maybe its because he looks so much like that Firestone guy from the Bachelor...

Abbott... he doesn't seem to have that star quality that the current crop of men and was a bit boring & he really needs to do something with that hair... but I will keep a watch out for him...

I really liked Eliot Halverson. He had a bad SP, but came back pretty strong in the FS. He's got a lot of style :) Plus, he's funny as hell. When he found out he was in next to last place in the K&C after the short, he looked at the camera with a big cheesy grin and gave two thumbs up

I haven't seen Scott Smith's FS yet. Will be watching it later. It's great to hear that he really lit up the crowd. It seems like his coaching change is already paying off.

i really loved jeremy abott's freeskate. The music was very good, the chreography worked and I loved this serious, artistic side of him. Impressed!

Yes, I am interested in these skaters too.

I like Jeremy Abbott's skating, and he has a quad in both SP and LP if I am not mistaking. I rooted for him to win the bronze, and Stephen Carriere for the fourth before the competition. Stephen Carriere's style, as I said in another thread, is like Scott Hamilton's style. I kept thinking how close they looked when they skate during his skating on TV, but it's just my feeling. I didn't like Stephen's LP music choice though, again it's because I don't like Jazz. I liked Ryan Bradley a little bit more than last year. But still his jumps landing scared me. Didn't see Scott Smith on TV, so I can't comment on him. Only remembered that Scott was at some point maybe two seasons ago the seed number three for the US men's skating.

By the way, thanks for introducing Adam Rippon, Joe! I think I will like him.

I like Bradley, and was surprised to see him do so well, considering the bone chip in the ankle. I hope he recovers from that quickly and completely, and returns to the podium next year

Eliot Halverson is awesome--he will be great when he gets more power. And I just loved Jeremy Abbot--I never paid him any attention before but he has great style. But I am so bummed about Braden. What great programs he has and what great programs he choreographs for others, but his nerves must really get in the way.

ALL of the Senior Men skated amazingly well and each built on the next! It was incredible!!!!

In fact, all of the disiplines on the senior level did extremely well... no real splatfests anywhere! It was a great competition all the way around!

I have honestly liked Ryan Bradleys skating for a long time.
I loved his long program.
I also believe that in the last few years the mens competition has been more interesting and exciting to watch than the womens.
That is not to say that the women didnt skate well but the competition between the ladies isnt as intense at this time.
Before everyone was trying to dethrone Michelle Kwan so the skating was more interesting. I do feel in the next few years the ladies competition will be just as exciting.

For me Jeremy Abbott was nothing special.
Stephen could definitely develope in the next years and be a contender in 2014.

Also, who is Scott Smith's new coach???

I love Ryan Bradley, I find his skating sooo entertaining. Granted his LP is not as entertaining as years past, but it is still enjoyable. He has always been a great showman. I hope he becomes more consistant. I was hoping for a Bronze for him, but had a feeling Carriere would be more consistant. I look forward to more fun programs in the future:agree:

As for Stephen I really enjoy his skating. Not as attention grabbing as Weir, Lysacek or Bradley but really good. He seems to work the COP quite well:agree:

As for Jeremy, I love his line, spin positions & musicality. Its a shame the jumps keep giving him problems. I think he will eventually overcome that. Definately enjoyable to watch.

I adore Rohene Ward, unfortunately this was not the competition for him :frown: he is amazing in practices but as soon as the competition begins nerves set in and its all over. I pray he continues to compete and hopefully gets over the nerves, people need to be able to see his beautiful programs. I wish him the very best:agree:

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait for Adam Rippon's move up to Seniors next year. Have a feeling he'll find his way onto the podium-I think he's more impressive than Carriere.

I have been a Ryan Bradley fan for a long time. But I fear that his "showmanship" and "personality" driven programs may become, well, just so much ham and cheese. I still like him I just would hate to see him become too gimmicky.

I enjoy Abbott, Halverson, Carriere- thy might not have all had great skates- but still, worth looking at.

Also looking forward to Rippon moving up the ranks.

I would just like to say that I'm SO in love with Jeremy Abbott. I think he's my skating discovery of the year, and immediately becme one of my favourite male skaters on the scene along with Stephane Lambiel and Patrick Chan right after his Nationals FS. I've watched the program about N times now. If he can get all his jumps consistent (inc. the quad) some day (hopefully soon!!!!), I don't see why he shouldn't be competiting for the top spot at Worlds.
And kudos to Kurt Browning- with his mostly goofy personality :p sometimes I forget how brilliant a choreographer he could be. That SP is sublime!

shine, your post is right on, IMO! We seem to have a love for similar skaters: Lambiel, Chan, Abbott, Savoie, Browning . . . they are all so wonderful! Are you living in my brain? I would LOVE a World or Olympic podium with Stephane, Jeremy, and Patrick . . . that would be my DREAM PODIUM for sure!:love::clap:

I agree with the new-found interest in Abbott--he is so charismatic! The audience at Xcel loved him.
I think also that Rippon will be one to contend with. I have to say he's my favorite skater now--his performances moved me to tears. I know he has a 3A but not terribly consistent. Hopefully next season will be just as good for him (and his fans).

I want to chime in on the Abbot Love (and Lambiel, and Chang, and Savoie, and Browning and....)....I so enjoyed watching him, he was great!!! I liked Carriere a lot too and love a number of the other guys too...it's so exciting to watch so much talent!!!1

I went back and watched Scott Smith's LP on icenetwork, and enjoyed it very much. It was also fun to watch how totally thrilled his new coach & he were in the K&C. Great fun. And I couldn't resist re-watching Ryan Bradley's Chaplin program. I'm so sad he won't be going to worlds or 4C's with it, because it is a charming program.

Braden Overett swashes and buckles across the ice in Pirates of the Caribbean. And I can't help watching Rohene Ward and wishing he could conquer his competition nerves.
