Absolutely. I suppose they will replace Yanovskaya/Mozgov.

But they are not on the seasons best list & very very low on world standings, so all they can hope for is a host pick at CoR. Y/M are on the SB list so have a chance to get selected for other GP events as well, plus their world ranking will help to move them up the subs list. The placement at Nationals means nothing for GP selection.

Though the S/K got a GP last season, when they were not in the top 25 of either the seasons best or the ISU rankings, so didn't merit one in their own right.
I am guessing that was Zueva/Russian Federation pulling a few strings to get them the US GP.
It depends on the politics behind the scenes, skaters can get 'invited' as a favour.

They could also do some early Challenger Series competitions and get to the top of the subs list for a GP.

No, S/K always qualified for one in the initial draw because they were 21st on the SB list, and then got the CoR host pick in September.

Yes at the moment they have no hopes of getting 2 GPS. I do not know of any other competitions where they could get placed on the Seasons Best list at this point, which is what they would need to have happen. Dance is the most crowded GP discipline- it is actually NOT particularly easy to get 2 spots there, and is the only discipline IMO that could even arguably benefit from more slots. As things are now this past season Coomes/Buckland didn't have a second spots until a VERY late withdrawal, and many teams that are in fact quite high on the seasons best or world standings lists don't in fact get a second spot. For instance Agafonova and Ucar (though no one would argue they're a top team of course are in the top 25 in World standings and close to top 25 on seasons' best right now and have consistently hovered around there for a few seasons now, but this year they only got 1 GP and it was their first.

Right now Tiffany and Jonathan are 93rd on the World standings and not even listed on the seasons best. Their only hope of a GP at this point is the host pick. While they surely might get on the substitute's list with a high score at an early B next season if the ISU continues to do what they've done the past 2 years and essentially add scores from the early B's to the seasons best list and use those to make replacement picks, chances of their getting 2 spots right off the bat are nonexistent.

They might manage to get a GP slot by going to tbe earliest Challengers Series event and winning it.

Yes, this is true too. I really don't understand why Russia did not send them to a B directly after they were released- the worst that could have happened was that they wouldn't get onto the top 25 in the SB list, which is definitely no worse than where they are anyway now.
