But Boyang already has a visa to Canada, he was in there for a month, so he goes and exit the country every 3 months (not that hard he just cruise American border) and then comeback. Javier did this.

The visa excuse is not reasonable.
A short term visa for a specific purpose such as getting a program choreographed or a summer of training is a different process.

I note that the Chinese team training in Montreal is only on a short term visa at this point.

And the Chinese federation has not yet identified their Canada coaching team officially on their lists...as long term status is not in place.

Russians have a different idea about bureaucratic proceedings and are willing to make an announcement while the paperwork is getting into place.

I really wish we had confirmation one way or another for Boyang. Most of all, I hope whatever is decided works out the best for him.

Is this media outlet for real? They basically have just as little info as we do and they make a proper article about it calling it "exclusive" as if they had insider sources whereas it looks like they just been watching TSL. Also this " Jin wrote an effusive message on his Instagram account (which has since been canceled) in early June, which was translated and posted on Twitter by @magicaleggrolls" What kind of respected media outlet copies translation off from a fan twitter account called magical egg rolls and uses it as a source? Also the choreography time in Canada wasn't "cancelled". It was completed.

Jack as we know and love. Well...

A poster on FSU is reporting that according to a “reliable” source, Boyang doesn’t want to leave China; the Fed is frustrated and even offered to send his mom with him.

I don’t know the poster, much less the reliable source, so no idea if this is true or just more fan speculation.

We are back to square 1. :roll9:

We need the intrepid Phil Hersh to get to the bottom of this mystery for us. C'mon Phil--call up Brian and ask him what the heck is going on with Boyang.

Phil is busy watching that super long Wimbledon semi-final lol.

bh at this point, if I were an insider or had some exclusive information so that I'd know what was going on, I might seriously keep quite, lay back and enjoy the A+ Hollywood Drama material produced by FS fans

and speculation is back...

Well, this isn’t strictly a news thread. People are speculating about Boyang because they’re interested in him and there’s no hard news. You really can’t control that.

If there’s something else related to TCC you’re interested in discussing, though, why not bring it up?

I trust a random internet poster on FSU more than I trust Jack Gallagher (ETA about Boyang) But still, verrrrry frustrating not to *know*.

So I have another question on visas where Google may be my friend, but our friends here on GS may know without my doing any work:biggrin: Does Jason need a visa to train in Canada?

I know that as an American I can cross the border with a passport (and that wasn't even needed last time I was in Canada, which goes to show how long it's been:eeking:), but I wasn't living there and I wasn't training. Did Jason need to do anything else?

^ You can go to Canada for six months as a U.S. citizen for business without a visa. I think it gets tricky if you want to work in Canada in certain fields.

Basically all those trips back to the U.S. essentially resets the clock, I think.

What I think is weird is that neither TCC or Boyang are saying anything about this situation. It would probably be better if they cleared things up for the public so that speculation would end.. unless they themselves don't know yet what's going on
