The news of the death of Julia Marie Gaiser has shocked the entire world of sports and beyond. The 23-year-old athlete from South Tyrol always lived her great passion, skating, to the fullest, where she was beginning to build a very promising career. Her journey in skating, as recounted by Anneliese Schenk, head of the figure skating department of the provincial FISG committee, started late compared to today's professionals, around the age of 8. From there, however, it was a path full of satisfaction, with a call-up to the national team. A girl who always gave her all in training, and this was her main asset: constant work combined with the strength to never give up. She had started in her city's team, the Wintersportverein Wsv Brixen. Despite her many sporting commitments, she also enrolled at the University of Innsbruck, which allowed her to join the Eis team Salzburg. In recent years, she has consistently placed in the top ten positions of the Austrian championships. However, her appearances were not only at the national level but also abroad, where she managed to stand out: last year, she participated in the 'Skate Emirates 2024' in Dubai.
