I knew it was a team but I was drawing a complete blank on who invented SkateTape! Here are some answers that I think are actually right...LOL

3. Who married her agent?
*Nancy Kerrigan

8. Who was a waterski champion?
*Vanessa Gusmeroli-France

10. Whose father was a gymnastics champion?
*Michael Weiss

17. What non Japanese skater speaks fluent Japanese?
*Rene Inoue ????

18. Who other than Dick Button won an Emmy?
*Sarah Kawahara (for Choreographing Scott Hamilton's special and then this past year for the SLC Olys Opening Ceremony-I think she has at least those two Emmys now)

19. Who posed nude in American Playboy?
*Katarina Witt (?)

Re: Skating before and after

Rocky Marval owned a trucking company I think?

Michael Weiss's father Gymnastics Champion.

I know Shasa Cohen was involved in Gymnastics.

Re: Skating before and after

" The only case I can think of one US OGM 'coaching' another would be the fluff coaching pieces where Peggy is working with Sarah. Can this be what you're after, berthe's ghost?"

No

I would have given you partial credit for Rob Paul coaching Peggy, but not full credit as he wasn't her coach at the time of the Olys.

Carol Heiss was coached by 2 time Oly champs the Brunets.

Re: Skating before and after

4. Who makes jewelry?

Tai Babalonia

7. Who worked on a version of the Rocky Horror Show?

Robin Cousins

12. Who invented the concept of skates where the blades were fixed to the boots?

Jackson Haines

13. Who, other than Paul Wylie, lived with Paul Wylie's family?

Shoot, I heard this just recently. IIRC, it wasn't a competitor, but someone just older. Was it Robin Cousins?

18. Who other than Dick Button won an Emmy?

Oh, I'm sure that it has to do with Carmen on Ice, but I can't remember who won. I think definately Brian Orser. Maybe Sandra Bezac as well.

I'm not sure whom you're searching...

Betty Callaway coached R&S in their most important years, and she was also the coach of Torvill & Dean 1978-1984 (and 1994).

I gather 4 world titles qualify as world gold medallists.. ;-)

<blockquote style="padding-left:0.5em; margin-left:0; margin-right:0; margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0; border-left:solid 2">18. Who other than Dick Button won an Emmy?</blockquote>

Again - Torvill & Dean. For "Six gestures" - a collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma.

Re: Skating before and after

Jaana, EllynK got it - it was Moscow News

DonnaML-yes Kerrigan married her agent, and Witt posed for Playboy.

Lucinda Rhue?

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Where in the world is Sonja Henie?

1. Hi guys, Sonja here. I've been so busy because the ISU has asked me to check out the 3 towns short listed for the 1940 Olys. Which 3 cities did I visit?

2. Sonja again. Aparently the 1944 games were cancelled due to war, but nobody told little ole me, so I'm sitting in an empty rink. Where am I?

3. Hi guys, Sonja again. It's 1975 and the city selected for the next Olys is thinking of declining the invitation, so I've come to talk sense into their silly skulls. Where am I?

4. Hi guys, I've decided to go skating to work off any extra pounds from the excellent chocolate the pairs gold medalists gave me from thier home country. I can't believe it's been 20 years since my past glory on this very rink! Where am I?

5. Sonja's been a naughty girl. I went to the source to find more of that delicous chocolate, and was exited to find that they had hosted an Olympic skating event here, but before my time. Where am I?

6. Ciao bella! I can't believe that the last time the Olys were held in this country, it was the last time they were held outdoors. Ah, those were the days! Which Oly town am I in?

7. Wow. The first time that the ladies Oly champ is from the country where the games are being held! Where am I?

8. Double wow. The first time that the ladies Oly champ is from the country where the games are being held, and they're official winter Olympic games this time! Where am I?

9. Thank heaven for little boys! Little Cecilia may have been the youngest person to enter an Olys, but this little lad is the youngest to ever medal in one. I just so proud that they're both skaters. Where am I?

10. Sorry darlings, Auntie Sonja's a little tipsy. It's from that beautifully colored liquor that those @#$% monks make here. So sweet, how's a grand dame to know she gettin' blotto. Where am I, and why why is the room spinning?

St. Moritz. But your chocolate, Sonia, is from Belgium. You're not very nice to your hosts to praise foreign chocolate... ;-)

(1928 Olys St. Moritz, SH won gold. 1948 Olys St. Moritz, Michelin Lannoy & Pierre Baugniet from Belgium won gold.)

<blockquote style="padding-left:0.5em; margin-left:0; margin-right:0; margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0; border-left:solid 2">5. Sonja's been a naughty girl. Antwerp. (Olys 1920)

Cortina d'Ampezzo. (Olys 1956)
Thanks for the tip "Ciao, bella!" :-)

<blockquote style="padding-left:0.5em; margin-left:0; margin-right:0; margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0; border-left:solid 2">7. Wow. The first time that the ladies Oly champ is from the country where the games are being held! Where am I?</blockquote>

You're in London (Madge Syers 1908).

Now you watched how Carol Heiss won in Lake Placid 1960.

<blockquote style="padding-left:0.5em; margin-left:0; margin-right:0; margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0; border-left:solid 2">10. Sorry darlings, Auntie Sonja's a little tipsy. You must be in Grenoble (1968). And the region of Chartreuse nearby offers much more than alcohol excesses.... ;-))))

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Cortina d'Ampezzo. (Olys 1956) is not what I was looking for in #6, but perhaps I didn't word it right. Any other guess?

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

7 and 8 are both Oslo,Norway and Sonia herself,I hope.

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Sorry I was Wrong. But the 1960 Olympics were in Squaw Valley, not Lake Placid.

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Yes, Donna, you're right. Perhaps I got too much liqueur, too.... ;-)

And perhaps those games in Squaw Valley 1960 were the last outdoor? (I thought it was earlier, but as I wasn't born yet then....)

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Our Figure Skating Stadium at Squaw Valley was a combination of Inside/Outside, one whole side opened to the outside the remainder was under cover. This was the Olympics that I had the pleasure to attend. California is my home state I am a second generation native of California and proud of it. California is thought of as a land of desert only, nothing is farther from the truth we have plenty of mountians and winter weather so we could and should host another Winter Olympics.

Re: Soap Opera and Skating

Lucinda is right! (and she speaks several other languages as well.) I believe she was coached for some time by Mr. Sato.

Robin Cousins did indeed work on the Rocky Horror Show, acted in Cats, and lived with the Wylies.

Tai indeed makes jewelry.

Carmen on Ice is the right program, but those usually cited are Boitano and Witt for the Emmies. Sarah Kawahara did indeed get an Emmy, but for choreography, not performing.

Rocky Marval does own a trucking company.

Re: Skating before and after

Berthe's ghost.
Jackson Haines is right for inventing skates.

While Sasha was in gymnastics, she was not a champion that I heard about.

(and thanks for putting me out of my misery on the Brunets)
