Hopefully this will be a learning experience for Alissa, and she will learn how to deal with pressure a bit more in the future.

She has the potential to do anything, and with improved jump technique and consistency, I believe she'll try.

Unfortunately this wasn't her year. I can see her staying in until 2010 though. She'll only be 22.

Good skate by Kimmie. I'm not sure if she will get credit for the first triple-triple, but the second one looked better. That pesky double axel. Oh well, it shouldn't make a big difference in the scores. And BTW Piel, the three triples you missed or couldn't identify were triple loop, triple lutz, and triple sal.

For a while there, I thought that it was going to be Sasha's first ever clean competition and I was going to be wrong, but sure enough she lapsed slightly on the easier elements once more. They were minor mistakes though. So I am sure that Sasha will be on top.

Very pretty dress on Emily. Looked like a tough fall on the triple loop. She seemed to regain her composure quite quickly.

Emily does a beautiful classic spiral. I really like the transition between the classic arabesque and the beilmann. It's one we don't see often, and looks like it would be very difficult.

We have to take that record breaking with A FEW grains of salt because it is at a national championship, with extremely inflated scores. Similar to Joannie Rochette last year at Canadians breaking the season record for the free program.
