Valtter Virtanen

Valtter Virtanen (born 4 June 1987) is a Finnish figure skater. He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022).

Valtter is a medical doctor (Ph.D.). He graduated at the end of 2015 and works part-time in the emergency room of the hospital of Peurunka in Finland.

Dr Finland is amazing! Plus, at 35, he's one of the oldest male singles skaters in the Grand Prix. Looking forward to seeing him (live) in Espoo in November...

Hurray! Valtter is competing at the new Robin Cousins Cup in Sheffield (my home city) in August!!

I really enjoyed Valtter's programmes at the Robin Cousins cup - love his interesting choice of short programme music, and the costume.

This is Valtter's 20th senior season - he's absolutely amazing - such an inspiration.
