Hello! Haven't commented here before (don't even know why), but Wakaba is my favourite competing skater in ladies right now. I fell in love with her SP last season (at Worlds especially; I saw it live and was just... astonished). Rewatching it months later made me tear up. She is unbelievably musical, and over the offseason I watched her previous programs and was amazed at how much talent, attention to detail and just... polishedness (?) she could already produce at age 13. Now, of course, she's progressed a lot. I can't even imagine what she'll be several years from now.

I was very very lucky to see her live at Lombardia. Both SP and FS are just fantastic, she absolutely shines in them! FS is currently my favourite for the season out of all fields.

I just finished re-watching her program that's being broadcast right now on Figureabema TV. It's soooo good. And after all that comparison with Kim's Bond girl program, I'm really happy that Wakaba's is nothing like it. They can both be viewed entirely separately and appreciated as completely different programs. She's so strong and expresses the music so well. :luv17:

Rostelecom is so close! I'm so excited to see her programs at the Grand Prix; usually skaters tend to reuse old programs or use 'safer' music choices but I'm so glad Wakaba is going outside the box and doing two extremely creative programs with lovely costumes to go with it!

Japanese channel TV Asahi, has been doing "green screen" clips of various Japanese skaters... I guess for promo or program intro purposes. Here is Wakaba's - it's a bit of 007 choreography, in costume.

Wakaba is my favorite ladies skater from Team Japan! I really hope she shines in her GP debut in Moscow, just like the way she shone at Lombardia.

I hope she slays both programs, especially her Bond program. It's my favorite free program as of the moment. (Gosh, it seems like everything Wakaba is my favorite :luv17

New FS costume?

I love her original costume - it's unusual, looks great, and I think it suits Wakaba and the theme perfectly.

I'm not sure about this one... I like the colour and the material... but shoulder area is distractingly poor, and I'm not sure about the overall design.

Well, best to wait til I've actually seen her skate in it, before deciding what I think of it.

Will she keep it for the rest of the season? Or go back to the first costume later (like Mao 2013-2014 Olympic season?)

Wow. Can't believe I'm discussing costumes. But this is Olympic year - and for the Olympics a skater needs more than just great skating to be a contender - the music, choreography and costuming all have to be great too. IMO :-D And I thought Wakaba already had all of that, more so than any other skater so far...! Why change?

yes old costume is more memorable and unique than new costume.
But some fans' reception is that old costume does not flatter Wakababy's body, makes her look chubbier.
New costume has a special meaning to me, which I hope can bring Wakababy good luck!

I personally like the older costume better but seeing the new one in videos may change my mind! At least it's still blue, because it matches the theme of the movie in my opinion!

Apparently she said the shape of this costume is supposed to make her legs look longer and it has more of a "dress-like" feel. I'm excited to see her perform again after that first outing which excited me so!

She should wear boot cover to make her legs look longer

I thought the old dress was really unique and suited the program to a T, but if you asked me which dress I like better aesthetically I would say the new one lol. I dislike tights over boots so I like it this way.
