Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

They were absolutely on the money with their performance, I loved the progress and perfect alignment at all times. Congratulations! I will try to write more tomorrow.

I was literally shaking after their SP, it was so magnificent and I was captivated from start to finish. Honestly, in my opinion they only received a lukewarm applause during the warm up, but after they performed their SP, the whole audience was on their feet. They even started standing and clapping before they had finished their step sequence! It's safe to say that Sui and Han got the loudest applause, the largest standing ovation, and most likely a lot lot lot of new fans! They were absolutely spellbinding. I'm so glad I witnessed it live, and it's the highlight of the whole event for me at the moment.

Whatever happens in the FS, I'm so proud of Sui and Han for this PB short program. Coming back from multiple injuries and a rough start to the season too. Their FS in the past has been shaky, but I hope they can pull through. Their start order doesn't help them all, but I'm still rooting for them all the way.

I am officially in love with these two, absolutely impeccable today, hope they can keep it up and actually get gold.

Ok, I've been in the arena all week not missing any performance until now, and their SP was hands down the best out of all programs across all disciplines!:agree: it was just amazing and the audience sure knew they just witnessed something special. Go for that gold!

Thoughts about SP

I got to admit, I was not expecting what I saw, as I really love the Russian approach to pairs skating, even more in the Juniors than the Seniors. All those little nuances, the balance of the skaters, it is what makes pairs skating so great for me.

That being said, these two Chinese people, had without a doubt a thrilling performance full of progress, difficult elements and not the slightest error or wobble, while skating on a higher level, than the Russians did, I have to admit.

I really like the choreography and arrangements, as with the lift or the exits and entries, it is so creative and well put together. The little jumps, that superb step-sequence, a no touch that has huge attack and so much fire and the alignment is beautiful, great interpretation skills and without even looking at the protocols, or scores - they just did things better than everyone else.

As a couple, they match, have a super balance and drive.

Thank you very much for that performance!

I finally watched that press conference. I think Max ship Sui & Han

Good effort by S/H! Maintaining silver in such a packed field is an achievement already! Hoping that the summer can be used to (a) get her foot fixed and (b) maybe find a jumping coach because her 3S is seriously the most stressful thing ever :drama:

They do have a jump coach that's started working with all the Chinese pairs this season, Guan Jinlin.

I'm very happy that they defended their medal but so sad that China's lost its three pairs spots.

I'm sure it must feel disappointing after such a stellar short, but considering Sui's condition, it really was quite amazing that they managed to medal again. The short is one for the ages, and I really hope she does get the surgery right after this, asap. Now that I think about it... is she really getting the operation? That would mean sitting out next season, and Yu/Jin could go to worlds... anyways, fingers crossed it's really in the plans this spring.
Sui and Han are really an interesting couple. Age wise, they're quite far from the typical peaking age for pairs in the last decade. And yet, they've already been contending for medals and titles. They're precocious talents indeed, but I've always thought the next quad was the ideal peak time(they'll still only be 26 and 29 in beijing- crazy!).
Basically, what I want to say is this: They're very young for pairs still, so I hope she get the surgery now, take time recovering and getting back in shape fully, and be ready just in time to kill it in their home country. :p

Considering all the hardships this season, 2 time silver medalists isn't bad at all :) I will always remember their stellar short program and the tremendous reaction from the crowd. I'm also glad they won the PCS of the free program. Too bad about the 3 spots, but I hope people don't blame them (or P/Z for that matter). Instead, I'm just frustrated at the Chinese Fed for always screwing their skaters.

ALSO - 3 PBs at this competition! Can't believe they got a PB with that FS, but after seeing their tech content, I'm not surprised :)
