Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

Wow, they are looking good. Couldn't see any facial expressions, but this was a great "teaser".

have to admit not love at 1st sight as it was with Blues for Klook and Spanish Romance, maybe because of the music, because every element looks great already, it would really help if we could see their emotions, but i am just being picky  they have the ability to make anything work so i am not worried at all

i think they can do better than this piece of music, it is a little bit of snooze. but they really skated very well to it, I like the stsq, music there has stronger beats and rhythms, and they already skated to that really well. so there is a somewhat climax ending.
throw jump is as crispy as ever:luv17:

I love them so much  So glad I did not have to wait for GP to see this, I'm ridiculosuly happy just from the fact that I could watch this (bad quality) fancam of their SP :yahoo:

I'm not in love with the program (yet), but I'm sure it'll get better, and it's not like it's bad (I mean, there was no way, since it's them)

biased much?? welcome to the club!:luv17:

i think their LP itself isnt bad, there are some lovely moments. i loved that there are no preparation before their 2nd lift, they are skating seperately and he lift her up right after they hold hands, also i am glad they kept their "spread eagle together entry" to their last lift :luv17: and loved chsq, their transitions are great as usual, the biggest problem is that there are too many music cuts but i dont think its that awful

:ghug::laugh:, you just got to the point of 'don't care too much about repertoire as long Wenjing/Cong are doing it', been here, done that:)

have to say that I am not super crazy over music choices, FS especially, but then - I have faith that they will make it work, firstly for themselves (to feel comfortable and confident) and then to present both programs in the most beautiful, attractive way possible. Their perfectionism and professionalism are their innate qualities for me, which make every program looking good. I have no doubt also that they will present conviction and lots of dedication to both musical themes used, they just commit to the music, choreography very strongly (which I love). I do wish that FS would have less music cuts - I think that 'less busy' program will make their skills and skating alone pop more. But we'll see how it will progress.

generally - lots of love for Wenjing and Cong!

Exactly! I was not a fan of them skating Turandot since I was afraid that people WILL compare them with S/Z no matter how well they skate and that the prejudgement is just not fair to them. But since they did and they are confident-why not? I just love them as SUI/HAN no matter what they skate, and I believe in the professionalism and perfectionism they have to bring to the audience a great program.

Plus-I don't think the test skate was a good reflection of the real program since they failed some of the elements and that affected the entire picture.

:)

the sure thing for me these days is comparing teams/skaters who already used certain music to those using it upcoming season, but the key is not to get to the point of accusing skaters of copying, stealing from team/skater who have done the piece previously. The team/skater for me could create a great, memorable moment in time while using e.g. 'Turandot', like Shen/Zhao did in the past, they could 'own' this music in certain moment of time, but not forever. The thing is to realize that all teams/skaters have their right to challenge themselves with every warhorse imaginable if they want to do it, regardless if we like it or not - for me, I am always open to see what interpretation, what moment could the team create while using a warhorse piece used so many times already.

Some can complain that certain pieces are so much overused, or based on that - that they are overrated, but I have a different perspective on that. For me, the music is always wonderful, moving, transmitting all kind of emotions, listened once or for many times, but there could be multiple programs using that music and it is always different picture created by different skaters. Some are using the music very personally, some as an artistic platform to show their skills, some are using, because see it as a challenge to get on 'big' music. I just don't see this repetitive side of using same music in many programs - I'm more like constant on music's beauty and open how certain skaters will use it.

With Wenjing and Cong, I think that despite numerous comparisons made to Shen/Zhao's 'Turandot', they are definitely going to build and create their own 'Turandot' moment. After all, it's a big music for big season:)

Well, Sui/Han is choosing Turandot under the tutelage of Coach Zhao.

I'm a little concerned for Wenjing as she seemed to be insipid and hardly keeping up in some segments, so not her usual energetic and expressive self. Maybe there is a lack of connection to the choreography or it's just an off day for her.

I'm keeping my faith in this team to be amazing when they are ready.
