What are you listening to right now?

"Some People" from the musical, Gypsy performed by Liza Minnelli in 1991. I got goosebumps when first hearing it and love her voice and interpretation.

"Some People" by various singers (I love Liza M's version the most and Ethel Merman the next, the latter of whose name I wasn't familiar with)

A medley of various musicals by Fred Astaire & Ethel Merman in 1966

"Anything Goes" in Mandarin from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (lol, I believed the lavish song in the opening was specifically composed for the blockbuster film sequel until now. The arrangement is very original but the song itself isn't.)

"Anything Goes" from the musical, Anything Goes, performed by Patti Lupone on the 1988 Tony Awards.

The latest Capitol Steps CD "What to Expect When You're Electing" - The Capitol Steps are a musical political satire group from Washington, DC that sing musical parodies, skewering EVERYONE!

In the summertime when the weather is hot
You can stretch right up and touch the sky
When the weather's fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
Have a drink, have a drive
Go out and see what you can find

Tiny Birds by Yo La Tengo

This may be my favorite Yo La Tengo song ever.

Summer stinks and summer stays too long
Autumn comes and all of a sudden it's gone
Tiny birds sit patiently
Side by side on a wire

Darker days and leaves in shades so true
Wind unfolds on nights so black they're blue
Tiny birds fly by silently
Side by side in the sky
