I hope he wins! some of his songs are very good as well:agree:
Italian is such a beautiful language srsly
Oh, I love it when the contestants sing in their own language. That's what I didn't like about last year's contest - nearly all the songs were in English. Only 3 of the 42 songs weren't. That is ridiculous.
And I still say Il Volo should have won 2 years ago... :disapp:
I always make a point of not listening to any Eurovision songs beforehand, so that I can get the full impact of them come the Semis.
I used to watch the Geman music channels a lot. And a few years ago, they played "
Satellite" by Lena Meyer-Landrut a lot. And I really did not like the song (well, if I am totally honest, the song wasn't too bad. I just thought Lena couldn't sing!) And it was only a week or so before the contest that I found out that that was the German entry. So, come the night of the Final, I couldn't get into the performance, because I already knew the song.
And that is also why I don't like the Final. Because I have heard nearly all the songs already in the Semis. And it is boring seeing the exact same performances all over again. (At least with figure skating, you may see a routine 10 times a season, but every performance is different. Because ice is slippery...)
The Semis are the best part of Eurovision. Because you get to hear songs that you don't hear on the Final. Plus, a lot of the songs that don't get through to the Final are a lot better than quite a few of the songs that do get through...!
During the voting for each Semi, I mark my 4 favourite songs from that Semi. And quite often, only one of them would get through to the Final.

And more often than not, the song I put at the top is one of the ones that doesn't go through!
Sorry, I'm ranting. I'll shut up now.

P.S. There was only one song in the second of last year's Semis that I didn't like. It was awful!

So, you can imagine my shock when it was one of the ones that got through to the Final. And you can imagine my even bigger shock when it then went on to win the title...
