What are your favorite figure-skating podcasts, youtube channels, and blogs?

I think The Runthrough is not a great fit for people who feel natural disagreement with other people who remember things differently. They express themselves in a very confident, non-deferential way, with an audible enjoyment for their conversation.

They make for a fun fellow audience members when they listen together to their ice dance loreteller guest

There's a youtube channel called This Week in Skating. A few weeks ago, amber glenn was interviewed. I'm surprised no one talks about this channel. It has less than 100 subscribers.

The Skating Session is very good. But I have to chuckle, I only recently heard of it, and I wonder if they started up when DL bailed out of TSL when he crashed and burned and flamed out faster than you can say Supernova. Looks like Tony and TVu were right there to immediately take over that niche. Smart guys! The name cracks me up, I have to say!

I recommend this one. The hosts are skating geeks and know their stuff.
I enjoy The Runthrough even if I get a bit frustrated with some of their mistakes and omissions.

It's just one man's opinion, but I find it to be a no-value-added experience.

To be fair, I don't find it as toxic as the predecessor. I do miss those episodes of TSL that featured former skaters and coaches. Those provided some real insight, and the hosts behaved themselves in the presence of those who actually knew what they were talking about.

IMHO Dave Lease truly cared about figure skating as such and these interviews with the great and legendaru coaches, choreographers and skaters really were treasures. He didn't do it ( TSL) for himself or for his glory but for his beloved sport. Yes, his personality came through ( empty-sorry, I would say North American talk about nothing- one may say-gossiping) but in his heart he might not be so evil as some love to paint him. Also, he touched topics no one dared to.

I am not watching and never watched any podcasts, youtube, blogs or platforms on regular basis, only occasionally. So i might be mistaken in my opinion. Yes, TSL was annoying at times- or rather most of the time- but the essence why TSL was there was not of bad root. Just my opinion.

Polina Edmond's Iron Butterfly are on the serious side and I actually now and then enjoyed her technical analysis but not on regular basis. Occasionally.

I saw this from Brian Boitano this morning, and it's exactly the type of social media content that I think is useful from a technical perspective.

He describes, illustrates, and performs the four basic turns.

The video is short, informative, and useful for new fans... and it didn't do this longtime fan any harm either.

There is a new YouTube channel started by Olivia Smart. For now, it is called "Olivia Smart". She just posted her second episode. She is very mature and thoughtful, which I like a lot.

There's a podcast called The Fashion Daddies. It's mostly a general fashion podcast but some of the episodes are called Ice Style. So far they've had some lighthearted discussions about what they think are the standout costumes (for good or bad) at the Grand Prix.

One of the presenters (Nick Verreos) used to have an Ice Style section on his blog which he did sporadically for years. Featured Grand Prix, championships, US nationals, Olympics- maybe that's the intention for the podcast, not sure. It's on youtube as a video podcast as well as audio in the usual places.
