Your comments on the

the Audio

the Sound of the Music

the Commentators and did you want:

Names and countries posted as the skater{s) skating? Music posted? Coaches names posted? A running list of the standings thus far as well at the conclusion?

My responses:

size didn't bother me, and the picture got clearer as the competition went on.

The audio was dreadful in the beginning but only slightly better later on.

The sound of the music was coninuously dreadful except for Dance.

The commentators were satisfactory.

I want all things mentioned in the last question to be fixed for the next presentation.

Size was okay, clarity was good.
Definite problems with the audio; and there was an ugly half-minute during the Free Dance today.
Music was good. I especially like the music during the dance replays.
Commentators were mediocre at best. At least they called most of the jumps, which is what I like commentators to do, since I *still* can't quite tell them apart.
They don't necessary need names and countries, because those got established, but they wouldn't hurt. Definitely want the names of the coaches, and the music would be a good idea as well, and the standings at least at the end of each phase.

For size, if you want it bigger you can always right click, then click on zoom and "full screen" (or 200%). For me, the clarity was not too bad even on full screen, and I could watch it comfortably from farther away.

The sound was adequate once I turned up all the volumes on my computer (including smething called "wave balance volume" -- I don't know what that is, but it helped). Also, you can click up the volume on the video screen itself (I think it's set in the middle by default. I found it best all the way up).

Size and clarity of the Picture - fine, considering it was free. I don't know that I'd pay the exorbitant subscription fee for it. If it were cheaper, probably.

the Audio - satisfactory

the Sound of the Music - satisfactory

the Commentators and did you want: The commentators were dreadful, and what I wanted was NO COMMENTARY. It's like sitting in a competition with some loudmouth behind you who won't shut up and has nothing valuable to say.

Names and countries posted as the skater{s) skating? Not while skating, but at the beginning and end would be nice.

Music posted? At the beginning would be nice but not necessary.

Coaches names posted? At beginning and end if possible.

A running list of the standings thus far as well at the conclusion? YES PLEASE. Since the ISU doesn't update during the competition and FSU was down, the only way to know where people stood was to keep notes.

- I liked Nancy Kerrigan as a commentator. She's calm, gives technical info we often don't get, and doesn't get obsessed with costumes.
- The picture quality was excellent, but the camera work was not great. It was very common that the first few seconds of the footwork sequence would feature the upper half of the skater's body, which wasn't too helpful.
-On demand is a nice idea -- and important if I'm going to subscribe -- but it needs to be indexed. If you want to see Suzy Q's LP, you ought to be able to click and get it, and not play guessing games trying to figure out where it is in the stream.
-Displaying the name of the skater would be extremely helpful.
-The sound quality seemed to be fine during the streaming regular broadcast, but seemed strangely muted on the "on demand" version, even at my computer's loudest speaker setting.

I really would like to see running totals and standings on the screen.

My video was quite clear, unless i tried the 200% size.

Audio was fine.

Commentators? Although Nancy Kerrigan has never been one of my favorite people, she wasn't too bad for a first outing. I think she will improve with time. I did notice that when a skater makes a big mistake she tends to say nothing. I do like the way she named all the jumps, etc.

I have no idea who the male commentator was. Does anybody?

I never heard of the male commentator. I think he is a sportscaster though and has been briefed on figure skating. Nancy was fine. Her voice has deepened and she doesn't gush or bash as the skaters are skating. She will improve.

I would love to have this for the other JGPs so I can keep tabs on the skaters.
