I chose Good looking/body.....not that I'm looking for a handsome or beautiful face, but if the way a skater looks as in holding their poise, their arms, their hands, their feet, their legs, doesn't appeal to me....I don't enjoy watching nearing as much and won't hope for an non-aesthetically appealling skater to win a competition. And I like a skater to move their body in a way that I can SEE and understand their movements. Rushed movements do nothing for me.

Did that make any sense?

entertainment value/personality for me... if I find them likeable there's more reason for me to cheer them on :)

I chose goodlooking / body. Not meaning the face, but how a person looks and moves on the ice, the bodytype.

I chose "other." I generally hope skaters win if I like the way they move to music, and if they have deep knees and edges, clean technique, flow, and a sense of rhythm.

I tend to root for the person with the most passion... the person who simply screams "Yes, I know, I'm so freakin' awesome!" and of course when it comes to Joubert, its all about that sexy french thing he has.... yum yum... :p

I would say mostly originality and personality, on and off the ice. Although I think it is very hard to judge the skater's personality, so I try to avoid being influenced by personal comments and stories. Additionally I admire toughness, seeing someone fight and improve.

I was about to say originality and inner grace, not standard or artificious grace, but sometimes also speed and originality in choice of musics influences me.. but I know I'm not very original :P
Plus... I just can't stand skaters with tights over boots  except Sasha of course, she was short enough to justify it.

I have to go with the total package in regards to music sense, choreography, expression, etc; is the skater taking at least a fairly new and different approach to his/her/their program? Does it grab me and hold my interest??

Then the tiebreaker would be -- who's cuter?? [Kevin van der Perren always wins the tiebreakers IMO ]. Sometimes in Dance it's who has the least obnoxious costumes....

All my favourite skaters used to train or do train ballet, so I rushed and voted for "balletic"...

But actually the biggest factor for me might be the personality of a skater. If I know someone to be kind-hearted person with a lot of love and dedication for the sport, I will cheer for them even if their skating isn't perfect.

The skaters who mock their fellow competitors, are snobby or otherwise unpleasant will not impress me even if they execute a quad Axel in Biellman position while belching out their national anthem on the way down. :p Thankfully, there's very few skaters who meet the criteria above.

Sometimes in Dance it's who has the least obnoxious costumes....

Yeah, that too...

I put Nationality, I don't always back Canadians... but if two skaters skate equally good programs and I like them both... then for sure I'll be cheering for the home team!
