Hey all!

I was talking with my new friend Jeannie and we were discussing a performance she had seen, she is certain it is post-2000, in ice dance, with a redhead girl, not sure if the music is 1492 or something else, but the girl was the sail, and the guy was Columbus. She would like to know who the dance team is. Anyone remember this? She believes it may have been from 2002.

Thanks in advance!

Is she sure that it's a dance team? I do remember that Savchenko & Solkowy (spellling?) skated to parts of the 1492 music a year or two ago. The first time I heard the 1492 music, however was when Hartshorn & Sweiding, the professional skaters used it. Anita Hartshorn was the figurehead. Their program goes back to the mid 1990's.

Anita Hartshorn & Frank Sweiding. Really great program. Fitted them well.

Yes. It was Hartshorn and Sweiding. Any 1492 copies that came after were horrible!

Hey, I loved Hartshorn & Sweiding's 1492, but I also loved Elvis and Todd's 1492 programs. With all due respect to Brian Joubert, whom I like over all, I couldn't stand the "techno-pop" parts of his 1492 program. Don't even get me started on his first costume for it, either. :frown:

I was just thinking about this very program just the other day. So great to see it regardless as it's such a Classic. Thank KBell for the link to it over at YouTube!! :)

Thank you SO much guys! I am certain that is indeed the team that she is referring to. Thanks so much for the youtube link too!!! I knew I could count on you to help me with this. I was quite certain that it was S&S when she asked about it, but I'm happy to see I'm wrong. :D

That was certainly gorgeous!!!!  I adored Todd's 1492 program too. Haven't seen Elvis's but I didn't like Brian's lol. You're right, after this team, no one else's 1492 comes close! (still :love::love: Todd's though...)

Thank you SO much for posting this link, ands thanks to whomever downloaded it at YT. I have been asking about this program for almost two years, because I've never been able to forget it!

Didn't C and S also do a free dance to the music from 1492?

Yes, in 2000. I can't find the youtube link, but that dance team has the fastest movements (faster than Bestemianova and Bukin). Sometimes, I felt seasick watching that free dance of theirs. I didn't know if they were portraying Columbus sailing, or pirates being ravaged by a hurricane.

Well, guys, apparently that pair team isn't the one she was thinking of hehe. She said there were no throws, and an amazing lift at the end, and her hair was down. Maybe it was C&S, as someone suggested, does anyone have a vid of that?
