Who is the best & typical flip jumper?

I think it is rather good to see the 'flip or lip' debates now. not in GPF or in Worlds 2009.

I've been thinking Yuna is the best flip jumper EVER.
But I could be wrong. I agree.

If Yuna's flip has a problem, she has to cure it.
If the technical panel of COC made a mistake, it should not happen again.

So is there anybody who can show me the best flip jumper ever? (other than Yuna)

Men or Ladies whoever.
I want youtube link and the analysis for he or she so I can compare it with Yuna's,

I am thinking what is flip jump.

Why, do you think Mao should be brought to discuss correct technique of flip? Defensive much? The original poster specifically asked for no comparison of two particular skaters. There is absolutely no reason to carry a chip on you shoulder.

I guess few ppl would say Mao is a "perfect technique jumper".... well....I can't imagine what the world would be if she's a so-call perfect jumper

all I concern is that of yuna's flip technique.
And pls tell me why some of her fans insist she should/ has to be the "BEST PERFECT JUMPER" thanks a lot

I believe it's Scott Hamilton doing it and he has the ankle bend too. I'm not an expert on any of this, I suspect you'd really have to see the tracings. I just now I'm tired of all the fighting.

I think everyone would agree though that Joannie Rochette and Caroline Kosther both have correct techniques on the flip/lutz jumps.

Jeff has gotten an edge call in the past, so I don't think he qualifies. Why don't you get a tape comparing Rochette's flip to Yu-na's that would be more honest.

That was just once, as I know. And, it was a kind of mistake probably due to his condition on that day, not his usual edge. It can happen if he is a human, not a well-performing robot. If he would have lipped consistantly, you could say that he doesn't quality. But, he is not a lipper but it just happened once. You may know jumping is a habbit, right?


I don't know much about Rochette's flip, but there are just a few top female skaters who do flip in the similar way (3-turn) that Yuna or many other male skaters do. Does Rochette use mohawk turn or 3-turn for her flip? If Rochette's flip is based on mohawk, it's hard to compare Yuna's with Rochette's. Probably, Irina would use 3-turn?


And, one more thing to add. Whether mohawk or 3-turn, many othe female skaters often use pre-rotations. That's why their flips look different from Yuna's. Please compare Yuna's flip with some other male skaters' flip. That would really help.

I agree. Even though she does really telegraph the jump, it doesn't bother me because the actual jump is just so good.
