Who will you watch again, and again this season?

I watch the joyous ones, regardless of jump difficulty. Besides joyous/expressive skaters, confidence pulls me in. I see lots of tech debate here, people concerned with edge calls and ur jumps...maybe you are skaters or judges? I am neither.

Whose programs/skates will you watch again for pure enjoyment? This season Caro has me. Also Akiko. For amazing talent plus artistic presentation, you can't beat the Russian babies. I also really enjoy Ashley's programs and performances thus far. As far as the men, I'm very picky. Dai is peerless as an artist and athlete. And then equally, or just about is Patrick. These two are a thousand points ahead in my book. I really don't care for most other men, regardless. Taka is a nice kid but no artist. Jeremy is looking good but I fear he is going to splat as in the past. I like his LP this year but he makes me nervous, like Alissa.

I wonder if many like me go back and watch the 6.0 skaters like Michelle, Tara, Janet, Chen Lu, John Curry, Robin Cousins.

I prefer style over difficulty, though quads are cool for men and ladies should have a triple triple in the long. I wish, very simply, the 5 jumps were attempted singly by each skater

Whose programs are you going to take from this year into your youtube list of watchables?

Mao Asada's NHK LP. It was SO gorgeous, it has become one of my favorite LPs of all time. It's up there for me with Sasha's Romeo and Juliet, and B/S's Thais LP.

I have a Scott Hamilton/Kurt Browning/SOI compilation that I watch a lot... will be breaking out the Christmas specials over the years pretty soon. I haven't recorded anything from this season... I'm just not that interested in collecting programs anymore... I have too many tapes that need to go on DVDs

Same predicament here. I'll be rewatching the "Rain" Tribute to the Beatles. Re; competitive programs - Javier Fernandez' free skate and the K&C moments, Taka Kozuka's performances, Ross Miner, Ricky Dornbush, Akiko, Alissa, The Shibs, Meryl & Charlie, Tessa & Scott, Cappelini & Lanotte, Weaver & Poje, jeremy Abbott, ...

I will be watching Meryl & Charlie's SD & FD, Tessa & Scott's FD, Anna & Luca's SD & FD, Dai's SP & LP at NHK, Patrick's LP at SC, Samuel Contesti's LP at NHK, Akiko's SP.

I get a kick out of Lichtman & Copely's Austin Powers' FD, Ralph & Hill's FD, and Chock and Bates' FD as well from Skate America, and might rewatch any of them. And I might rewatch Ross Miner's SP & LP and Kaitlyn & Andrew's SD & FD at NHK. There are other teams & skaters whose programs I like but who didn't skate as well as they might. Or, if they skated at Cup of China, the music and videography was so vile that I will be hoping that better videos are available from the skaters' other events.

I rewatch 2011 US Men's Nationals a lot & plan on rewatching the current GP mens events over again a few more times between now & '12 US Nationals.

I have been watching and rewatching these 2011 programs:

- Song´s SP and LP from Cup of China
- Takahashi´s SP from NHK
- Han´s SP and LP from Lombardia JGP

What a great thread!

I just hope Abbott can put together a clean LP this season, because I think it's a stunner. The music, choreography, and Jeremy's style all work really well together. I think it could be a really special program when it's clean!

Of course we do! I watch Lu Chen's 1996 World's LP at least once a week. I'm a big Kwan fan, but I still think LuLu should have won that event. I'm convinced that it's the best women's LP of all time.

oh, yeah, this was tough, a perfect 7 triple was it Salome to maybe 5 triples from LuChen? gotta rewatch. Lulu was amazing, a more exquisite beauty on the ice is hard to find. Her costumes were pure, simple, elegant. I think she should have gotten the gold, too. The real chinese woman skater against the perfect jumper. I could see gold going either way, much as in Nagano, with MK vs TL.

Now that we've caught up with the ladies @ NHK Trophy - Mao, Akiko, and Ashley!

A blast from the past - ABC's Magic Memories on Ice - especially volume 3 (the 1995/1996 season - US Nationals, Europeans, Worlds)

LuLu had 6 triples, Michelle had 7 (she did an extra toe loop). I'd still give the jumping edge to LuLu, though: she had a true lutz and true flip and also her jumps were much bigger than Michelle's...no point in rehashing this, though. :-) They both were great!

My favorite program this season is the SP of Caroline Zhang at skate america.
I find this program very beautiful and mature.
And, it really a joy to watch her skate because for the first time I find her skating very graceful and natural (beautiful smile and nothing is artificial in her presentation, she is simply herself :)
We can see in this program why she loves to skate.

Great thread!

Whether they skate clean or error filled...programs that I would watch over and over again from this season would have to be:
Alissa's SP/LP
Akiko's LP
Wagner's LP
Caro's SP
Mao's LP (only because she ends with that spiral )
Mirai's SP (I get a such a Yamaguchi vibe from her in this program; reminds me a little of her Challenge of Champions performance in '97.)
S/S's SP
K/S's LP

I may be taking this too literally, but the only programs from this season so far that I know I'll watch over and over are Dai's SP and FS from NHK... Meryl/Charlie's FD from SA... and Shibs FD from both COC and NHK (to compare).

Others that stood out for me so far that I'll rewatch (but not sure how often) are:

Men:
Jeremy's FS at COC
Brezina's SP and FS from SA
KVDP's FS from SA
Javier's SP and FS from SC
Contesti's FS from NHK
Hanzu's SP and FS from COC
Adam's SP from SC

Ladies:
Akiko's SP and FS from NHK
Mirai's SP and FS from COC (not that these were the best she'll do, hopefully, but I just love her basic skating style)

Pairs:
S/S's (pairs) FS from SA
T/T's FS from SC
V/T's FS from SC
D/C's SP from SA

I was impressed by not blown away by others, like Chan, Rogozine, and Denis Ten in Men's, Tut, Carolina, Imai, Murakami, and Ashley in Ladies'; V/M, T/S, C/L, and K/G-S in Dance; and will hope they as well as those mentioned above all have great skates later in the season. Mao worries me greatly right now in her emaciated state, so she's not on my rewatch list even though I consider her one of the greats. Some of the skates people are talking about from this season I still haven't caught up with.

Akiko Suzuki's SP from NHK; Daisuke Takahashi's SP from NHK and possibly his LP from NHK... I'm sure there's more to come. i.e. I know some performances should get better, like maybe Mao's LP, and it's the done one that I will probably return to.

Hrm, my list is short, I guess I am super-picky.
