I think so many fans want to see that quad.

If I know American figure skating coverage as well as I think I do, if Ando does land that quad, we'll be seeing a lot of her:sheesh:

hockeyfan,

You list SO many you want to see! But I have every confidence :rolleye: in our coverage of figure skating that you will see one or two you meantioned! :\ (Wishing we could see EVERY competitor somewhere and somehow!)

Kasey

Just watched the European Championship on TV. The total skating level is much better than Four Continents, especially men's skating. Few of them have very good technique. If the US men who will go to world don't get much improvement, they will be easily beaten by the Europeans, considering the World is held in Germany.

Women: Miki Ando
Men: Chengjiang Li
Pairs: Inoue and Baldwin

Forgot to add Julia Soldatova for the women and Andrei Griazev for the men. For these skaters, it will be their first worlds and/or time appearing on US TV, and I am curious to see how they hold up to the expectations others have put upon them. Also Marcoux and Buntin for pairs and Winkler and Lohse in dance (it is a shame for any team to miss worlds, especially when in one's home country).

Kasey = That's the whole point of being there in person. One can see all of them. Speaking for myself and I daresay Hockeyfan, we enjoy ALL the skaters.

Joe,
I so agree with you regarding Klimkin. I find him to be a much more interesting and creative skater than Plush. Every move has purpose and relevancy. Just wish he were a bit more consistant on his jumps. He has them but...... Regarding Plush, I wish he would ditch the DB spins as he does them so slowly. His sit spin is also slow and not really sitting all that much. OTOH, Lambiel IS the male Lucinda Ruh. I saw him on Europeans on ABC. I do believe that male figure skating is going in an interesting direction-- not just a concentration on jumps but MsITF in general, spins, footwork and smoothe, deep edging. Yay. I am falling in love with FSing all over again.

Looking forward to

Michelle seemed to be excited in her last few interviews about how much she is learning from her new coach. Its as if she is learning something new. Im looking forward to seeing how much she has improved and what area is obvious. A new Michelle would be nice not changing her style same Michelle but better.

I am looking forward to seeing Michelle's skating. Hope she'll win this title again. I'm also looking forward to seeing Sasha. Hopefully she can put out a great clean program with Robin Wagener's help. Johnny Weir's placement in his first world is also what I'll pay close attention.

Miki Ando

I guess many fans who come to this thread are interested in Japanese new champion , Miki Ando.
Here is the link of the video of Japanese sports news program (with English narration). In this video, she tells how she starts skating, training quads and more. And you can see her successful 4sal in 02-03 JGPF and 03-04 Japanese Nats, and her 4loop in training.
The file will be removed in 8 hours.

Aside from my favorite "veterans" I am really looking forward to seeing the "new to Worlds" competitors: Johnny Weir, Jenny Kirk, Miki Ando, the new pair team that has Obertas in it...Oh one more, Soldatova!

They didn't show the dance at Europeans but they had said it was a 5-4 split between the Russians vs. the Bulgarians--this should make the dance more interesting at Worlds (of course fingers are crossed that Belbin/Agusto contend for a medal)

Worlds and I am looking forward to seeing.

Of course the first person is Michelle Kwan, my very favorite skater.
Followed by
Jenny Kirk
Johnny Weir(from the University of DE)
Tanith/Ben
Shen/Zhao

Good luck to my favorites.

Joesitz....

I would LOVE to be there in person, and see all the skaters. I would enjoy it immensely. Unfortunately, there are some things (i.e. mortgage, car payment, utility payments, etc) that kind of get in the way of me being able to be there! ;) I guess I'll have to depend on the powers that be at ABC. :rolleye: Yikes!

Kasey

Kasey - Yeah, I understand. I'm reitred now and those bills are not as high as they once were. But think you will be seeing them all in the future.

In the meantime, wouldn't it be nice if ABC would just show all the skaters on ESPN2 at 4 in the morning. You know we would all watch if not tape.

Joe

I think there is such a very different feeling if one is able to watch important skating events like Europeans, Worlds and Olympics live or at least live on TV (if the time gives that possibility, LOL).

Although Eurosport may not show every skater anymore (they leave about the first group out), at least the rest of the skaters are shown.

I am looking forward to Michelle, Irina, Sasha and the rest. Worlds should be a great competition like it always has been. :D

I want to see the great Japanese ladies. I also want to see Irina's triple triples! Of course I want to see the lovely Jenny Kirk.
Go girls!
