What are you looking forward to the most next season?

Oh, there is a lot! The first season after Olympics is always very fun. It's time to try something new and experiment. There will be new pairs and dance teams formed and coaching changes made; I want to see how it will work. It's possible that I will even watch the Ice Dance :) In particular, I have an eye on Japanese ice dance; I want to see how the new teams that formed this season will do and if there will be new teams added.

The first batch of 4 years hyped juniors will turn senior. I'm lowering my expectancy here because at 17, girls are over their teen peak already and boys are not at their full peak yet; but still, it will be interesting to watch their first senior experience.

Of course, I want to see what Alysa will do and how the recent figure skating boom will develop in the US - and what influence it will make on figure skating community elsewhere in the world. For start, I want to see how many little girls in the JGP circuit will skate to Stateside

Also, I'm curious what difference the newest package of rule tweaks will make and if we'll get any closer to IT judging tool in action next season.

So, there is an awful lot to look forward to. Might need some extra spare time to watch skating 😃

ETA: Did I mention Synchro 9? I want to see Synchro 9! I need to know if that throwing girl up into the air will become canon 😆

Easy for me!!! Next ice story by Yuzuru Hanyu, we have already seen the PREQUEL in April and it looks delicious! I am pretty sure with the fully original soundtrack by Marihiko Hara it will be the most commercially successful and artistically interesting skating event next season!!

In competitive skating, well, after so many retirements...
1. I wanna see Mone Chiba receiving the PCS she truly deserves, at last
2. I wanna see Shun Sato receiving the PCS some other guys get without deserving them, at last
3. I am curious to see what happens with Alysa, if the craze about her keeps up or dies out with the Olympic dust, and if she keeps competing, or goes back to focus on her (uni) life - of course hoping for the former but the latter would be extremely funny... and so much in her style :laugh:
4. I am also curious about senior debuts of Rio, Minkyu and Mao - watch out, guys and gals, XOXO, lol

going to my first live competition(s?)! i intend to buy tickets to lausanne and i might just go crazy and sit 10 hours in trains for a day and a half in angers, but that's not as likely.

other than that: see how the women's fields shapes up, especially with the arrival of mao shimada; see if there are any shake-ups in pairs and dance (does the golden waltz change things?). and also, i am curious to see what the singles' choreo spin looks like.

I am excited for one less jumping pass in programs! Can't wait to see what skaters will do with it.

Senior debut of Rio and Minkyu is on the list as well. I usually don't follow Juniors, but I'm excited for these two, Rio has some of that fire that's been missing from japanese mens field lately and I can see Minkyu being one of my favorite skaters some day in the near future, I have high hopes for him, given he's been working with the great Patrick Chan.

Mikhail Shaidorov. Will he use his olympic money to invest in coaching and work on his weaker areas? Will he face olympic champion inflation? He is the one skater who could benefit from his olympic gold the most - I'm excited to see the outcome.

Synchro at the olympics - I'm excited at the thought that ISU might want to promote synchro more and therefore maybe livestream more competitions?

And as always - I'm excited for new programs, new goals, new dynamics in forever changing field and all that jazz.

Free dance of Smart and Dieck, as Dune 3 is coming too late for them to use, I'm curious which direction they will go.

Rio debuting in seniors and generally how the Japanese men will line up with Yuma taking a break, if someone will come forward the same way Shun did this season.

Whether Liu and Shaidorov will show up or call their career a day...partly the same for FB/S, but I don't really care about them, so maybe only to see whether ice dance can become Cizeron free again and we can return to the regular dose of ice dance drama.

How the pairs field will shape up, quite a lot of retirements, splits...it can be interesting. Same for ice dance, how and if the power dynamics will change.

I am more curious than excited to see how the jumping pass change impacts programs and choreography. I'm not sure it will make much impact but it will be interesting to see the results.

I am excited to see more of skaters I only discovered during the Olympic season. Stephen Gogolev and Piper and Paul really impressed me. Also to see Ami develop. And Ilia, who has had his redemption moment already, I want to see if he changes anything about his skating going forward. He won't need to, to keep winning, but I think this experience changed him and will change his skating.

-- Emilea and Vadym's new programs and watching their development.
--Seeing how Rio Nakata and Mao Shimada transition to seniors.
--Seeing U.S. Nats and Worlds live.
--Seeing if Shun learns to straighten his bent free leg.
--Following Shaidorov's next season and seeing how things shape up.
--The Golden Waltz.
