Why Martynova

Ekaterina Kozyreva turned 14 in February, but she is just as inconsistent as any of the other ladies. She was 6th at Russian Nationals, but 11th at Russian Junior Nationals, so that's why she didn't get sent to Junior Worlds. She is another lady that has excellent presentation, but iffy jumps.

Actually THIS is the one I was remembering - Kozyreva. ...

... Check out her other photos - she looks stunning in every one.
Could you repost a working link please?

Ekaterina Kozireva and Margaret Tertichnaia (8th in Russian Sr. Nationals and 7th in Russian Jr. Nationals) were the only Russian ladies to medal (1 bronze apiece) on the JGP this past fall. Tertichnaia also won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Spain (before Jr. Worlds) -- not sure of her birthdate but she had to have been born between July 1, 1990 and June 30, 1992 in order to compete in EYOF. She won the SP with negative GOE on her 3lutz combo and 3flip attempts, and in the FS attempted 3lutz (fell) and two 3flips (one scored negative GOE, the other was downgraded).

Here's hoping Arina Martinova will get to go to Worlds and have a positive experience and performances there.

Even though Martynova has the T.Lutz and T.Flip, they are by no means consistent this season, hence why skaters who only has T.Toe's and T.Sal finish ahead of her at Junior Worlds. Plus her skating looks so sloppish to me (last season was better....)

I wasn't there at the multiple skate-offs that Ievleva had to go through, but I was impress that she was able to maintain a decent Euro debut placement with just jumps up to the T.Loop. This is due to the fact that she has much better spins, footwork, spirals, and presentation than Martynova and the judges rewarded her this with a 6th place placement at Euro's, ahead of skaters like Poykio and Sokolova. Though her FP might hold her back a bit with out the harder jumps, I think Ievleva should be able to make it into the Top 24 cut. Marynova on the other hand....she better land both her T.Lutz and T.Flip AND d.axle (she likes to single it) b/c breaking it into the Top 24 SP is no easy task this season with the Q-portion cut out.

Tertichnaia turned 16 in January. Martynova was 17 in February. Ievleva is 19 and will not be eligible for the JGP next season.
