Words and rhyme - game

After the work is done
Hope it's time to relax a bit!
Old summer clothes don't fit!
How to quickly gain weight?

[In May I did a ballroom competition at the beginning of the month, a skating exhibition at another club in mid-month, and a ballet studio recital at the end. A lot of calories burned, and I can easily forget to eat when I'm busy. Last summer's pants need a rope to hold them up. What puts on 5+ lbs quickly (my coach and dance teachers would all prefer 10 lbs) but isn't sweet or salty? Not a dessert or snack-food fan! 🍰 🍿🍩:cautious:]

"Alberta Bound"
is a Gordon Lightfoot song! 💕🇨🇦

(Gordon Lightfoot was/is still my favorite singer/songwriter & we were thrilled that he got to sing "Alberta Bound" @ the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. We got to see him in concert many times)

When I worked in the Library of Parliament, an annoying gong
just outside the library's door would be struck to summon MPs for a vote :eek2:

(OK, I'll fess up that I know Gordon Lightfoot's name, I'm not familiar with his music unless I've heard a song I didn't know he wrote. I checked Alberta Bound just now in Youtube, and as far as I know, that's the first time I've heard it. It's like a friend who moved to London a few years ago to work and has yet to see Buckingham Palace or the Tower of London. Just not in the district she lives and works in )

Write yourself a note
to help remember things!

(Gordon Lightfoot is probably best known for "If You Could Read My Mind," Sundown," "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" & "Early Morning Rain." I first heard of him when I heard "If You Could Read My Mind" for the very first time (circa 1971). One of our local radio stations played a LOT of his album tracks from the mid 1970's early 1980's. I really liked a lot of those album tracks, in addition to the hit songs, so I started buying most of his albums/CDs from that point on. He sang "Alberta Bound" during the Calgary Games Opening Ceremonies.)

I may be a wee bit prejudiced, but when my younger son sings
"The Impossible Dream" or "Maria" in concert, I think it's the best ever :love4::clap::points:

(We tried to persuade him to make singing his career, but he said if I could be a librarian and part-time singer and his father could be a scientist and part-time organist, he could be a veterinarian and sing semi-pro in the evenings and weekends )

Never
play with matches!

"Man of La Mancha" is another musical we 💕, and West Side Story is way up there, too!
