Since so many idolize a particular country's skaters, it would be too
contentious for me to name the country and say why I think they're over-rated

I never seem to have the right manicure tool.
So I just leave my nails bare and file them short

(What do they give kids for grades in school now? I've never asked my grandkids. In my day it was letter grades - A/B/C+/C/C-/D/E. Mine were, um, A. I disappointed a couple of teachers by dropping Math and Science in high school as soon as it was allowed, which was after Grade 10 then. My parents were satisfied with my explanation, that I wasn't interested because they weren't "people subjects" like History or languages, or artistic subjects like Art, Music, Drama and PE (we had a girls' gym teacher then who favoured gymnastics and dance). I got A in Math and Science, but ..... meh. But I don't know how they mark kids today, or what subjects are taught. I bet not many high schools offer a major in Latin like mine did! Our teacher threw a toga party every spring for the class, where we wrapped up in bed sheets and lay on the grass in her back yard to eat )

In high school our grades were from A - F for subject matter. Behavior grades were 1-3 (1- excellent, 2- satisfactory, & 3 - unsatisfactory. When I got to college, the marking system was numerical - 4.0 being the top grade. I just sope to a teacher friend the other day, and she mentioned that her 9 year old granddaughter's school district grades students numerically for content area 4,3,2,1 (4 being the highest grade possible). So I guess it varies from district to district.

I do remember my 10 the grade French teacher very fondly. French was my favorite subject in high school, and I always did well in it. When it came to behavior grades, I was surprised to see a "2" on my first report card of the school year. I found out that no one in my class received a "1" for behavior, no matter how well behaved he/she was. The teacher addressed this by saying, "No one is a perfect angel, so I don't give "1' for behavior. If someone is really bad, that person gets a "3." The students in my class were all respectful & well behaved, so I imagine that everyone got a "2."
