Nice thread, would have made one at season start if she didn't have one yet, luckily I didn't have to.

A super kind Nini fan has provided me with more links and lists of Nini's programs across the years. I will update her page over the next few days!
Apparently Nini choreographed some of her old programs, before she started working with Benoit Richaud! I did not know that before!
For example her gala from 2015 CoC was choreographed by Nini when she was 8!

I was wondering - because names are so important to Chinese - what does the nickname 'Nini' mean?

Here's her long program: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Fg411j7hB https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1SL411E7KL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRa1uIWBjuI

I don't know what the training situation has been with COVID.... or what the injury situation is. But her trajectory doesn't is not has high as it was before COVID hit and her first possible JGP season was cancelled. Previously I thought she could win JGP medals and now I'm doubtful. I think she will be able to get regular senior Grand Prix assignments. And she could potentially help earn a point over Canada in the team event in 2026 if she improves and the Canadian women don't.

Thanks for the updates.
Those jumps have issues. But she is young, she can improve.

She also trained for Rhythmic gymnastics competitions the whole spring, this probably also affected her form on top of the injuries she apparently had

An Xiangyi didn't do as well in the long program in the same competition but her short program from the same completion, her jumps were fine. She ran out of steam in the long segment - but no-one can be "on" 100% of the time, especially for such a small competition. Here is a better version of her SP:

Her SP with good resolution and clarity:https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Nq4y1Q7ij?from=search&seid=12475528041588955038
Her jumps are fine and I think she has better height than before on her jumps. I thought she improved from previous years. Plus, she's rehearsing her new programs but they're not ready yet so they probably affected her performance of her old programs.

Her new program to Giselle: I really like it. She is a good actress and makes the mad scene look good down to the hair. It's supposed to be her exhibition but I can see it as an Olympic LP, the music is so grand.

It's really too early to freak out. So many juniors never turn out to be successful seniors anyways - I'm always a bit iffy on Junior Worlds and Junior GPs in any case (I swear to God I thought Marin Honda was going to be the next big thing, the next Yuna but it was not the case - she never achieved the level of success in seniors as juniors). Plus, An Xiangyi had a major growth spurt this year.

Nini had a surgery on her right hand several days before the competition, not enough time for her to recover all the jumps. In the beginning, her coach persuade her to do a 3T 3S 2A routine, but she still want to challenge herself. As we can see, the qualities are not so good. She's getting better now, don't worry so much.

Nini debuted her short program today at a Chinese Club event and I loved it and will watch it multiple times. Femme Fetal. So different and she wins the award for best dressed. I can’t wait to see the international audience watch how talented this girl is.

She also upgraded her 3T 3T in the second half of the short program to a 3S 3T 👏
This takes her TES from 36 to 37… every point matters 😍

Also, her presentation and skating skills is a bit better than last year. She scored 69 here. Wow 😮

I can’t wait for her free skate debut. Praying 🙏🏽 for a landed 3Lz and a rotated 3F. Interested with what combos she will attempt. I’m hoping she scores over 131. I really want Nini to score over 200 in the International circuit next year to solidify her as a top twelve contender for Senior Worlds.

Will watch the Short program again and again 🤪

Well, Nini disappointed me with her free skate. I don’t like the music. But, she has some cool moves.

What has me most concerned, is that she didn’t even do a 2Lz. She did a 2F instead. So, something must be wrong with her foot injury 🥹

Also, her 3F had very little height and was more like a 2.5F. I also don’t know what three jump combination was planned with her layout….?

The good news is that she still won. I think she scored 114 for a total of 183. She won by one point. Two other skaters were over 170. This was the second inter club event. I think the winner of the first event skated 180+. So, she is pursued by two other skaters from China. I hope she improves.

Nini has been haunted by sickness recently, and her jumps and fitness are not very well. Additionally, she's on her period that day, so it's really a struggle for her.

Hopefully, she will be back in good health and form soon.
And good luck in the Chinese club event (also as the COC qualifying event) and Asian Open in August!
