Your Hopes for Euros

Korpi is stunningly beautiful but I personally don't find her to be as elegant and graceful on ice as Lepisto. I hope Lepisto would win this but realistically no, Kostner will win this by a huge margin.

Dream Podiums

Ladies
Let's invite special guests from Asia, let them skate exhibitions and just skip the competition. It's just embarrassing.

Dance
1. Kerr/Kerr
2. Cappellini/Lanotte
3. Khohlova/Novitski

Pairs
1. Sasha/Yuko
2. Maks/Masha
3. Volosozhar/Morosov

Men
I can't really decide. I want all of them to skate extremely well.

1. Brian
2. Lutai
3. Yannick

Korpi is stunningly beautiful but I personally don't find her to be as elegant and graceful on ice as Lepisto. I hope Lepisto would win this but realistically no, Kostner will win this by a huge margin.

If she does, I hope she earns that margin with two clean programs. I'd hate to see a repeat of Karl Schäfer Memorial. And if she doesn't skate two clean programs, let's see a Finnish sweep instead.

I want Brian Joubert's new LP to be really good and not at all like the original Matrix, and I want him to win, but not by too much, over Thomas Verner. I'm good with either of the other French guys or KvdP getting a bronze, and I want to see a really good competition.

Medusa is so right about the ladies. With the quality of skating we've seen from the European women, Carolina Kostner can show up to skate some laps around the rink, and she'd win. I hope the Finnish ladies give the audience something to get excited about, and that Clara Peters won't do to badly as the first skater to represent Ireland.

Dance - it doesn't matter what I want because it will not happen. But I hope (probably unrealistically) that the Kerrs and P/B to medal, and I want the Zaretskis to skate better than they did on the GP circuit.

Pairs - I hope V/M do well. If S/S are to win, which they likely will, I want them to do it by skating well, not by getting gifted.

There are many skaters I like to watch, but my strongest hope in this event, is that Brian Joubert will have a good experience at this Euros.

As to the other men, there are too many to name, who I hope will have good performances. There is a lot of talent in that entry list.

I like both of the top Russian dance teams, D&S and K&M. I hope that Shabalin will not have any knee trouble. I hope the Kerrs will at last get favorable treatment by the judges. I like their originality and zest, and I always look forward to watching them perform.

Of the ladies, I favor Lepisto's style. I hope she stays calm and focused, and skates well continuously in this event. The judges seem to favor Carolina Kostner, so I expect her to win. She has excellent speed, but stylistically I prefer Laura.

Of the pairs, I do believe that Savchenko and Szolkowy are the best, when they are "on", but I have a very large soft spot for Kawaguchi and Smirnov, and I hope also that Mukhortova and Trankov will complete both programs without mishap.

My hopes are

Lepisto
Poykio
Kostner

Verner
Brezina
Preaubert

Gold for Kawaguchi & Smirnov

Gold for Khokhlova & Novitski
