Yuna Kim

A Chinese figure skating fan (@frenchrabbit) wrote technical analysis of Yuna's Sochi Adios Nonino program. It has been linked on Yuna's Chinese fanclub weibo. If you can understand Chinese, suggest to watch(if not, it will be difficult for you to understand). It has many tech details, some of which even I did not pay much attention. In terms of PCS, I must say, people around the world, fans or not, when they watch Yuna's Adios Nonino, the feelings are quite similar. It was really a good analysis and also showed the author's deep feeling for this program (The author is not necessarily a Yuna fan, however, this review is arguably one of his best work, I think he may has been pondering upon it for quite some time).
I will try to translate/paraphrase this review into English and share with you guys.

I wonder if she showed any singing ability when she was younger. I'm glad she became a skater though. :p She'd be amazing if she'd gotten actual vocal training.

Her sister can sing too and I heard from her interviews that her sister wanted to be a professional singer but couldn't because most of their finances were used to support Yuna's skating (not that it's Yuna's fault or anything). Maybe good voice runs in their family.

The author made analyzing video for Yuna with subtitles and text to explain details and in the end he gave his score (He is very conservative, but still cannot hide his love of Yuna's last dance) .
I will link the link here, even without understanding Chinese it is really a treat to watch this video, with Yuna's dance and the author's love when he is editing this.
I hope you can watch this video.
it will take me sometime to translate.
but really watching Yuna's last dance just felt so good (and here there is no scores, no k&c, no scandal) just purely Yuna's final dance.

EDIT:some perspective, the fan strongly think that Yuna's stsq is technically very diffcult, if there is a lv5, she will be the one deserve it with a very deserving + 3 GOE, however when he scores, he still used Judges level setting (he is also conservative in terms of giving GOEs). In terms of PCS, according to this fan, Yuna's PCS is the highest of the whole night and she is higher or equal to Caro and Mao in all PCS category (and he backed up his opinion with detailed analysis).
I will not translate other skaters' tech analysis by this fan, but if you can read Chinese, you may wanna read theirs. so that you may have more perspective. Further appreciate how special Yuna's last dance is.

Yuna received Moran Medal, the second-highest Order of Civil Merit, in 2012 for helping PyeongChang win the bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
A recipient of a government order may not win another medal for seven years,
but Yuna qualify for an exception because of her special contribution to sports, and she received the Cheongryong Medal(The Highest Order of Sports Merit, Blue Dragon Medal) today. (The National Day of Sports.)

That's great, she has done so much for FS in her country and we now can see the fruits (I watched Eun Soo Lim SP quite a lot, you can see where the inspiration comes from...even the dress has clear Yuna's vibes!)

Congratulations to Yuna!
She deserves it. She has sacrificed a lot for the sport and has supported and inspired other athletes in many ways.

I like Eun Soo, too! She has great elevation and power in her jumps that's pretty reminiscent of Yuna's. She also has the same body type as Yuna and I hope she sustains and improves her jumps (and overall skating) as she gets older. :)

well deserved.

i just miss her skating.

Didn't watch the whole thing, but apparently they asked 100 local skaters (guessing around Nagoya because of akiko and kozuka) what their favorite SP was. And Yuna's 007 is ranked the first :)
All the girls that was interviewed said the program was really cool.

Thank you! It's so nice that young Japanese skaters of today can appreciate Yuna's skating.

many young Japanese skaters openly expressed their appreciation (on TV, in magazine) to Yuna since long time ago, it is not a recent thing, although maybe we will see more since next OG is in Korea. Kanako is one of those "old" kids.
