I agree. Watching skating live is a very different experience. The crowd is more enthusiastic live than as it is feels like in the TV (Florent Amodio's long program was a super fantastic experience live at the Europeans this year, but when I re-watched it on the internet, well, the atmosphere was nowhere near as good as it was live). I also think they seem faster live and the moves are more dangerous than in the tv (especially for ice dance!).

The skaters are really very tiny in person, all of them are very skinny/small and musculous. Some of them also look younger than in tv, especially the ladies if the don't wear too much make-up off ice. Oh the costumes...they look 10x more gorgeous live. The colours are more vivid and the sparkling is even more stunning. I can't really imagine what Yuzu's Hope and Legacy costume looks like in person, because it it absolutely wooooooow in tv.

As for Yuna, she must have had lightspeed on the ice because even in the TV it was obvious that she was always way faster than any other skaters.
Neither have I watched her live, though I did have my chance. I will regret it forever that I didn't travel to Croatia for the Golden Spin in 2013. It was my first year at work and December was a a bit busy month so my boss asked us not to go on holiday. I should only have said that I've catched cold and offf..I could have traveled to Zagreb for Thursday-Friday-Saturday. I am so stupid :palmf::drama::tantrum:

you should have went to golden spin, because it is a relatively casual and smaller event. It is a smaller rink and not many seats. You literally can seat in the front row to watch Yuna live, which is very very precious opportunity.
as for live impression of Yuna.
My first live impression of Yuna is her speed. yet it is not from 2013 world, it is from 2011 Harvard EWC. it was my first time ever watch Yuna live. and the ex is "Fever", speed is my first impression of Yuna. I didnot take any photo successfully at the time, cos every one of them blurred together (just a shade of purple). Yuna literally fast as lightning(literally). And it is just a EX "fever". I also watched ShibSibs in the same event. They also left a great impression on me.
for 2013 worlds. Les Mis. at the time, I have got just a little more experience watching figure skating. My feeling of Yuna is. She got that natural FLOW, very organic and sincere (like a growing tree, like a floating river, with life, dont know if you know what I mean) that you can not feel it from anyone else. If Yuna were to have EX in the future, and you can manage to watch, you will see it.
Also, in Les Mis, the communication of audience (eye contact) throughout that program is phenomenal, it is a consensus from all fans who watched that event in person. My heart literally melt when Yuna look at right at me with a gentle smile, felt very real.
As for sparkles etc. it is similar to others posted here. 100+ more times better live.
Also, her kiss of vampire make-up looked heavier up close in person than on TV.
Also, Yuna is a very fast learner of choreo (She got the ex group choreo right away, among all skaters). that I also witnessed. very cute.

OMG, just reading this I envy you so much:sad46: I don't know what are the chances she'll be doing shows again, and even if she would I wonder if it'll be possible to catch any tickets. I've read all the tickets for 2013 k. nationals were sold within a few minutes. But if it indeed happens I'll definitely try my luck:hap57:

:console: you may search for Yuna's fancam, perhaps you can imagine what it is like. the fancams from 2013 worlds and 2011 EWC. always reminds me of my experience. and I somehow can relive my memory.
The natural "flow" of Yuna that many commentator mentioned is indeed one of a kind. it is not just skate smoothly or fast. it felts very organic with live(like life emotes from every parts of her body). Hope you guys can understand what I mean.... I tried....

EDIT: I usually tried to search fancams that is close to my view perspective in every figure skating event that I have been to in person.

EDIT: this famous fancam of les Mis felt as if you were there.

This is one of my fave fancams of Yuna's Sp in Sochi. It shows how fast she was flying around the rink. Everything was smooth.

I have never seen this fancam before, thank you for posting. Awesome, incredible, unbelievable. :luv17: She was skating incredibly smooth, elegant, and fast with huge ice coverage. Her charisma and presence on the ice is transcendent, too.

I was watching Denis Ten videos when I was bumping into his interview after 4CC in 2015, which he won. He mentions Yuna in the post-competition interview twice, how she and ATS inspired him to stay in the sport. So good to hear!

I never noticed this when Yuna was doing Exhibitions but is this by any chance Yuna singing during this bulletproof sequence? https://youtu.be/zovksIyzZPk?t=1m12s

I can't confirm it but it sounds very much like Yuna. I think she is the person who sings that middle part.
Anyway I only watched Bulletproof EX just once or twice, because I think it Yuna looked very sad and tired during that performance which makes me sad too.:(

Her 2010–2011 era just breaks my heart. I love both of her programs and you could see that she was still growing (her spins, expressions, footwork were my favorite from all Yuna's eras) but she was already done with competing (and ofc it's understandable).

Homage to Korea was a gorgeous program, and I loved Giselle too. She matured a lot in that year, but overall her situation broke my heart too. Seeing her on the podium crying hard was really hard to bear...

Miki Ando mentions Yuna and the 2010/2011 season in a recent interview in Japan Times.

One of the enduring images of that season was seeing Ando on the top of the podium at the worlds with her gold medal, while Kim, who came in second, was overcome with emotion and wept. Ando had beaten the iconic Olympic champion.

Ice Time wanted to know what Ando recalled of that moment.

I don’t know how she felt,” Ando commented. “She didn’t do the Grand Prix (that season). She just came back for the worlds. I’m sure that it was really hard for her to be a top skater all the time and after the Olympics.

She was free from the pressure,” Ando said. “I would love to talk to her sometime, someday, but she never really talked as a person.”

That last piece of Miki's statement breaks my heart. A real pity that Yuna wasn't really able make friendship bonds with her competitors due to the pressure that surrounds her.

Wow, right in to my heart, she struggled so much to become champion like that, I have so much respect for her  Her life is so movie-like.
