Yuna Kim's foot injury was severe and is still severe

I really do feel sorry for Yuna. Her 'people' are obsessed with making her no. 1 no matter what.

You could see when they showed Adelina hugging her coaches and Yuna crying trying to turn away from the camera.
I felt that this was more than just she is upset because she didn't win and she wanted to win for herself. No, she wanted to win because I believe she has the weight of her federation and her country on her shoulders. I think Yuna is a very generous person and wants to do what she can to promote the sport in her country. It would not surprise me if she was being pushed by her federation to do well so they can begin hyping the 2018 games in Korea.
When they showed the warm-up before the SP Yuna tried a jump and popped it, skated to the boards and looked at the ice in frustration, she looked very stressed. Then, her reaction after her LP was very different from her reaction to her LP at Worlds 2013. in Sochi, she looked as if she was exhausted, as if she put every ounce of energy she had into skating clean. That was not an easy skate for her, you could tell.
She knew she could not make a single mistake.
For her to skate that clean under that amount of stress and injury is just something almost superhuman and then .. to not win because of ridiculous judging. I feel for her. I can't imagine the pressure.
She is a phenomenal athlete.

Is it just me or does every time Yuna loses the gold, we have to get explanations of injury or lack of motivation/stress,etc. There always has to be a reason. Personally, I wouldn't have picked Adelina as the winner, but I think there is an argument for each of the medalists for being Olympic Champion, depending on your view of skating and style preferences. This is what happens when all of the medalists produce clean performances.

Many other skaters have injuries too and they do tend to talk about it after the Olympics because talking about it before the competitions can affect the result because judges can be prejudiced and underrate performances because they expect them to do worse because of the injuries. It's a norm in the sport.

If this is the case I think it explains why Yunas skating looked slightly cautious (by her standards) to me in the long program. I think it is truly commendable how well she skated given the circumstances and I hope she is able to see that, though she didn't win she really is a strong competitor to deliver those clean programs when she must have been in pain if her injury is as bad as is stated! never been a massive fan of her skating but I have always respected her as a great athlete and being a two time Olympic medallist is nothing to sniff at
