Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

Poohlitically Correct Fan-Auntie-ing Group
Poohsitively Yuzu Addicted

(yeah I do like the pooh-puns best  ok, now I'm really off to bed, it's already 6.30 in my world *-* )

 ~Pamina~, yup, you deserve your rest and Sylvia451's Olympic Pooh medal. :) Sweet dreams.

Just noticed that the acronym of "Poohlitically Correct Fan-Auntie-ing Group" is PC *** ;)

Is 27 old enough to join the auntie fan-club? Most skaters that I like are way... younger than me!!! Even PChan who is a veteran, is still a child compare to me!!! Holly!!! Daisuke is the only one older. :bang:

hello hello! i've been lurking around for a little while and i'd like to say thank you to everyone in this thread for all the updates and things!
(also is 18 too young to join the auntie fan club? because i feel more like an auntie towards yuzu, more than anything else LOL)

In the Nagoya festival interview Yuzu said that he wanted to do his best cause the audience at Nagoya is, usually more 厳しい - strict/ demanding/ severe... ? Can someone explain this for me? Are the audience at Nagoya some sort of expert skating fan or something? Isn't it suppose to be a "festival"? Sorry I'm new to this.

Yes,he means the Nagoya audience is demanding.Because they've seen many good shows, so they could be a little strict. It's a compliment to the audience. LOL~

Ohhh, so it's like that. Thank you very much!
I remember they gave him a standing ovation at the 2013 Festival so I thought they would be more friendly...

Well, I think they ARE friendly. It's true they are professional and they understand figure skating well.(I think most Japanese audience are like that) I think Yuzu just being modest and he highly praised the audience.

I'm just glad he's over 18  counts in my book (I'll just go be ashamed of myself :o:)

When I started to like him he was only 17 :slink:  But I suppose that I'm forgiven that I put my eyes on him when he was a minor...hahaha . Now I am feeling really relieved that he is 19,although I guess that in Japan he is still a minor. And of course I'll join gladly the Auntie -Yuzuru -Club!! With Pooh as the mascot!

Word of the Day Award for you :agree:

There are some seriously weird wordplays involving movie and book titles rolling through my head...
The Gran'Kid Club
Hanyu and Maude Society
Yuzuru and Old Lace
Maybe we should nominate his biography for the Poohlitzer Prize

(geez how did I get my fingers to actually type those puns *__* I so need to go to bed)

 this is so funny...I started my day in a very good mood thanks to these posts :yay:

the WHAT now???

oh my, he really does have the complexion of a porcelain doll, doesn't he... we all should be so lucky -.-

The Hanyu and Maude Society is cracking me up! One of my favorite movies. :)

Previously I posted that I remembered reading that Yuzuru said in an interview that he discussed his move to Canada for training with Nanami sensei and that she understood his reasons and gave her blessing. Thanks to troublemakerstorm who posted it in Tumblr, here is the quote and the link.

“I’d never been in an environment where I would train alongside other top class skaters. That’s what made me want to move to Cricket Club. I want to be ready for Sochi. I will miss Nanami-sensei. I discussed this with her, and she gave me her whole-hearted blessing. So, I really want to work hard, for all the people who support me, and especially for Nanami-sensei.”

For sure, the JSF also has a role in that decision, but I'd say everything worked out for all the people involved. Lovely to see Nanami with her former student, now Olympic and world champion, at the 2014 Worlds gala.
