I sometimes wonder if he possibly could be a Highly Sensitive person(HSP). Dunno though but at some moments it just clings.

Yeah, it’s a very personal thing whether he is a HSP, so I can’t say anythying clearly. But the extent which he feels others’ pains sometimes seems to be beyond what’s called empathy or sympathy. You said the other day about that last year’s 24HTV scene where he tried hard to hold back his tears. It was when the old man spoke about his tough experience where he lost his wife, house, all of his belongings by Tsunami. The old man’s deep sadness came to him largely. Of course, we also feel deeply about that person though…

When it comes to his sensitivity, he has the inherent characteristics to catch other people’s feelings and provide a help right away if necessary. His body seems to move unconciously to give a hand. I often hear about such episodes.

But they also become insecure when observed (he's a performer and has some of the strongest nerves in the field. I think he's said things like he actually enjoys the spotlight). They have low tolerance to pain (he has performed through many tough injuries, specially CoC) and tend to avoid strong stimuli like loud music or lights (music for the programs, ice shows' music and light, screaming fans...).
But...who knows? He might be he might not

And I can't even imagine what a drunk Sashida would send Yuzuru to get him upset

Well, my sister is a HSP and she doesn't seem to get disturbed by loud noises as much. She watched FS competition live with me and even went to a rock concert with her friends. She couldn't handle it to the end though She's also OK with strong light. So maybe it's possible.
Didn't he say he gets nervous easily? It's not because of being observed though but the fear of failure I think. In terms of low/high pain tolerance, I think it's more a physical thing, isn't it? I think he could tackle all the pain he had because of his strong will. Who knows to which extent he felt it.
HSP also tend to feel and perceive things more dramatically. The thing that keeps emerging in my mind is when he collided with Han Yan and lied there on the ice, thinking all the dramatic and tragic things immediately. Like, his career would end this way, this is the end. It worried me that his first thought happened to be this. Oh no, I need to stop. I may sound really intrusive. I'm a psychology fan.
